I've spent thousands at Ace over the last few years. It's been great until about this last year. Literally every single time I go there, there's some sort of issue. Last week I was trying to purchase some roses that were on sale for $10. They rang up incorrectly and when I tried to explain to the cashier that they were on sale, she gave me attitude and was beyond rude, despite the manager coming over and verifying that they were ringing up wrong because whoever did inventory counted them incorrectly.
Then a few days later I was purchasing some things with the bucket sale and upon totaling out the purchase, it was clear she hadn't applied the 20% off. I asked her if the discount had gone through and she just shrugged "I guess?" So again we had to call a manager over and when the manager explained the cashier had rang things in wrong, the cashier gave the manager attitude and was like " well how should I know.." So unprofessional.
The final straw was today when I had plaster delivered that I'd been waiting on for a week. They delivered in the middle of a rainstorm and instead of wrapping the plaster in plastic or waiting until the storm passed to deliver, especially given our house is literally only two blocks from the store, or at the very least giving me a call to see if I would prefer store pickup or to at least notify me of the delivery, they just left the plaster.
The plaster was destroyed and when I brought it back to return it, the manager had no sympathy for the situation or the fact that their mistake pushes my project out for an entire week while I wait to get new plaster.
I wiill never again spend another penny...

What really made my day, though, was that they had exactly what I needed – a flea light catcher! I'd been searching for one and was starting to lose hope, but Ace came through. It's a testament to their comprehensive inventory; they truly seem to have everything you could possibly need, from the everyday essentials to those slightly more niche items. Beyond the product availability, the customer service was truly exceptional. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, ready to assist without being overbearing. They made me feel valued as a customer, which is increasingly rare these days. Seriously, if you're in Springfield and need anything for your home, garden, or a special project, do yourself a favor and head to Ace Hardware. You'll be amazed at their selection, the cleanliness of the store, and the top-notch customer service. They've definitely earned a loyal...
