Smoothie King — Restaurant in Springfield

Hello!

Not really sure who to go to specifically about this, so I'm going to be leaving a review.

On August 12th, 2025, I went to this location at 6:40 pm and proceeded to drive up to the drive thru window. I was then told by a woman, "I'm sorry, we are only taking online orders". When I then asked her if I could just come in instead I was then told that they were "short staffed" and could only manage to take online orders at that time.

I'm not fully aware if this Smoothie Kings policies changed because I worked at this location myself a few years ago, but from my recollection online orders couldn't even be made after 6:30 pm for this location.

I don't want to make any assumptions about what was going on, but I feel like coming 20 minutes before closing is plenty acceptable to expect the service the workers are being paid to do. All I will say is if the workers are running off customers so early on before closing time because they dont want to do their job, that's not the greatest look for...

I would gladly rate this 5 stars if it were'nt for what happened tonight. Ive walked to Smoothie King at night on a few occasions around 8:00 - 8:30 and have had no problem getting a smoothie. But tonight i walked over to Smoothie King at 8:25 and arrived at 8:30. The lights and open sign were on, and a few employees inside, and there had been a car in the drive thru which had just left. I proceeded to the door only to find that it was locked. The sign on the door said open 8am to 9pm mon-fri. I knocked on the door and all i got was employees staring at me, not employees walking to open the door for me, but just staring. Smoothies are great but I wouldnt recommend stopping...

I WAS a fan until I went and not only was my drink made improperly but I was treated extremely rudely on top of it. I was a huge fan of $5 friday since this location opened the door BUT to make me wait a long time while you mess up my drink then when I call you to explain some teenage girl answers PRETENDING to be a manager with YEAH when she answered the phone? No you got my last $7. Ill make my own smoothies. I did talk to a young man from the other location (Michael) who must LOVE his job because he offered to fix my problem and apologized for this location so he is definitely worth mentioning but I wont...
