Stopped in while passing through Springfield, although I grew up there and used to visit the original location a lot as a kid ;). Wanted a taste of nostalgia and flavors that are frankly, hard to find done the same way even at other Thai restaurants in the U.S.

We ordered egg rolls, garlic salmon, stir fried green curry chicken, and my 6 year old had beef oyster with no mushroom or bamboo. Incredibly close in flavor to how I remembered it from over 30 years ago, which is a remarkable.

I ordered the curry hot, and it was exactly as hot as I liked it (very hot) and with a a strong curry flavor and basil leaf mixed in.

Salmon was richly garlicky and flavorful. Beef oyster flavor was very good, maybe a touch more sear would be perfect. My son doesn’t do much spice, and mild beef oyster was perfect for him.

If you enjoy a great Thai meal, do not miss The Magic Kitchen Thai Restaurant in downtown Springfield. Not to be missed! Dine in or carry-out, has always been good here. Don't forget to ask for a side of fish sauce and pepper flakes. The service is attentive and you can tell the crew here takes pride in what they do. The Green Curry is my favorite here.
