Sixteen Acres Garden Center — Local services in Springfield

I had been coming here for the past two years, and the service was always impeccable. I didn't mind the high prices because I would rather get personalized attention and have more selections than to get good deals.

This season, however, has not been so great. I inquired a salesperson about some Rambling Roses. She said they didn't have any and to check back in a few weeks instead of taking the time to order them for me. I checked back at Home Depot instead...

Then, I order mulches. They were supposed to call me before the delivery, which they did but I was in the shower. They didn't leave a message. I figured they were still coming, so I waited all afternoon. Then I called the next day and was told that there was no delivery person working that day. They asked if I wanted it Friday; I said only if it doesn't rain and to call me to coordinate. It rained and no one called to rescheduled.

So, I called Friday late afternoon and scheduled for Monday or Tuesday but only if it didn't rain I'd told them. I got a call Monday morning saying they were about to make the delivery when it was about to rain. I asked them to do it Tuesday morning instead and was told they wouldn't be able to do it until the following week. At that point, I cancelled and called Mulch and More.

Without the service, they only have their selections to go by. I will probably be back for that reason, but I will not seek additional...

We saw a birdbath online and discovered that the Sixteen Acres Garden Center was a distributor for it. Several blocks from our home! We didn't expect them to have it but we were going to order it. Surprisingly we saw the birdbath and in the finish, we wanted it in. The birdbath gods were smiling down on us today! We looked at many of the birdbaths and fountains and a wonderful man, Casey, came over and started a conversation. He is very friendly and very knowledgeable and it was a joy to bounce our ideas off of him. After contemplating which birdbath to purchase for quite a while we finally decided on our original choice. Casey told us to sign up for the rewards program and the cashier helped us set it up to get $10 off! Bonus! Casey packed it into our car with care and we were off! When you have an experience like this cherish it and share it. Our garden and landscaping mostly come from here but on this visit, we felt more connected to our neighborhood which is always a wonderful feeling. Great job Sixteen Acres...

went here early this spring and purchased a number of fruit trees. I had noticed the copper fungicide on the cherry trees had been applied as thick as possibly being sprayed more than once. I hadn't thought anything of it until I planted them and realized quickly that one had arrived to my property with a fungal disease. Things happen, but I believe they knew the trees were coming from an infected farm. I have sprayed trees for years and should have listened to my instincts and experience....
