Bought an expensive coat rack. First when asking if there was a better price was told I should feel grateful that I get to hang the piece on my wall. So I bought it anyway, because I really liked it. Didn't even get it home and 3 of the hooks made out of nails snapped in the backseat. Barely touching the front seat back they snapped very easily. Can't what would happen if we were to put coats on them what would happen. Tried to go back to Modern Barnyard to talk to owner who sold us the piece if they would at least replace the hooks. Was met with sarcasm, disdain, rudeness and just plain bad customer service. Was told it was a one of kind(of course) and that all sales are final (wasn't looking for a refund). Just maybe a replacement for the hooks. He wouldn't even listen. I used to be an antique vendor and if this happened to one of my pieces I would bend over backwards to help my customer. We were legimately looking at buying a $1200 buffet we found in there. NOT ANYMORE! especially when they treat customers they way we were treated from our first interaction. I will never set foot in that store again! I expect more from St cloud an know for a fact other antique shops in the area would have been helpful and found a solution. Do t recommend,...
Read moreBUYER BEWARE! This store may advertise that they care about their customers but they certainly do not! We bought a farmhouse style kitchen table that they swore would be our “forever table”. When we got the table home, a short time later there was a large crack in the tabletop. We called and they stated the table was supposed to have been treated. The table was in their store, apparently left untreated for some time before we bought it. I can’t even begin to count the times we were told this would be our “forever table”, “one of a kind” etc. Not one time were we told to treat the table top. All I asked for some recommendations (didn’t even ask for a refund) to fix the crack and was met with rudeness, sarcasm and an “all sales are final” response. Even sent an email, upon their request, with a video of the crack and no response.
After reading some of the other reviews and seeing the same thing happen to other customers, it’s amazing the same man is still able to work/sell these products. All I can do is make sure other people do not buy from here and go through the same experience we did. It isn’t worth it. Salvage Sisters and other stores in this genre are of way better service. Please go...
Read moreMy grandmother and I went on a girls shopping trip to this store. During our visit the owner disrespected my grandmother by saying she must've bought something similar 100 years ago. Implying she's old. I then was looking at a snow globe and he approached me asking if there something he can help me with and I responded "No I'm just looking" he replied well both of the snow globes are out of the box you can touch the box. I stood up and said "wow" I can't look at something that I am potentially buying. I felt super disrespected and "profiled" like we weren't good enough to be in his store. We then talked to the owner before we left and he proceeded to say he didn't disrespect anyone that someone broke one this week. I said if I were to break something I would buy it. I'm a grown 30+ year old. Also wanted to mention that the minute we went in the store he was constantly stalking us. We had no bags/purses. Had tight fitting clothing. Nothing to raise concerns on theft. Will not ever go back...
