This would be the third year I used Bissinger's for a Christmas present. The quality of their chocolates is great. The customer service and ordering process through their app is awful. This was the first year that they directed me to use their app for an order. The gifts have always been sent to the same family for three years. I did as they asked and used their app.
They didn't state that their app doesn't work if you use an Apple wallet. It autofilled all information and approved itself immediately upon choosing the credit card in Apple Pay. It never asked where to send it - it automatically filled in the billing address information. They close quite early and I called them immediately, but it was a weekend and they were closed until Monday morning.
When I called on Monday morning I was told they could not fix the problem at first, until I threatened a chargeback. Then they said they would try to stop the order. Told me it was already ready for delivery and on the truck. They told me they have no history of past orders, despite my using the same email and pulling up all receipts in gmail. They cannot retain past order information, blah, blah, blah. I order from certain companies every year for different family members. The other companies will actually ask I would like to send the same gift to the same recipient every year. Bissingers is clueless, After customer service woman lied and said it was being shipped to billed to address, she was able to stop the order and change it to where I wanted it to go. She wrote down the wrong address by a digit, bu not the last digit. She just called back and told me she fixed it. When I asked her to tell me the new information and I told her it was wrong, she told me I was lying and that she was right. If I ship from you every year, trust me I know the address I was reading it from an old Bissinger's email order from the previous year.
Base on customer service and a bad app that she said they new didn't work I will not use Bissinger's again, nor could I ever recommend anyone using them. I only spend $100/year with them, but it will be $0 in the future. I was planning to consolidate the different orders I make for Christmas from multiple vendors for each family member to only one. We will not be consolidating to Bissinger's. Customer service was so poor and rude. I am not a complainer, but this experience is still bothering me...
Read moreWe attended a wedding there and wow. Nice looking venue BUT they have no idea how to serve food. No salad dressing was provided or offered for the salad. They never served the entree dinner plates to three people at our table until we tracked down a server. By then everyone else at the table had finished. Three potato chip sized potato slices and completely overcooked and ruined broccoli were served to everyone. Entrees were cold. No suprise there. Never offered or served coffee to anyone. Served only a few pieces of cake to each table but had already taken everyones napkins and forks. People were eating with their fingers at a formal affair. EVERY time someone got up to dance, they collected their drinks so back we went to the crowded bar for a replacement. The restrooms had paper all over the floor and no hand towels so people were drying their hands with paper napkins. Sinks were soaking wet. I don't think any staff looked after the restrooms serving over 200 guests at a 7 hour event. Sad part is nobody exposed any of these problems to the hosts in fear of ruining their special day. I purchased Bissinger's chocolate for my family a few days ago and the company used a different person's name and address to process my credit card. They refused to resolve the issue. Then, I asked the Bissinger's why the credit card charge even went through when it had the completely wrong name and address and they man on the phone said "that happens all the time, ha ha". Then, I asked to cancel my order because I was appalled at the incompetence, lack of care for customers, and I no longer trusted this company and he said he wouldn't cancel the order or refund my money. These are unethical business practices. I cannot believe a company that relies primarily online sales doesn't care about their customers' credit data security and privacy.
