WE LOVE HERBARIA! We live in Texas, but my wife is from STL. On a visit to the Hill during one of our trips to STL to get some Italian Food (praise God) we stopped by herbaria. It was that day that we smelled all of the incredible smells and heard all of the benefits. It was that day that we threw out the bottled body wash from the grocery store. This was 5 years ago, and since then every time we're in STL we buy a dozen bars and in between trips we order them. In a pickle we have purchased individual bars of soap from other companies in our area to hold us over until our Herbaria order arrived, and they all pale in comparison. Our skin is so soft, we have significantly less blemishes, we aren't covering ourselves in chemicals, and our shower smells SO GOOD. The price is so reasonable too, the bars last forever. They also have a shave bar that's better than any "insert manly grooming company here" shaving soap I've used. This isn't a game people, get you some soap. Also I feel the need to clarify since this is such a diehard review that I am in no way being compensated, I just love their soap that much (But I wouldn't hate to be sponsored by Herbaria, if I could walk around like some sort of human NASCAR with it on...
Read moreI've been using Herbaria soaps for a little over a year now, and finally had a chance to visit their store. Their personal care products are very well crafted, and easy on skin. They have a very impressive variety of types and scents of soaps, but they also have shampoo bars, shave soap, aftershave, and other products.
Herbaria isn't cheap, but it's worth it. They feature deals when you buy in bulk, and I recommend taking advantage of it. The only negatives are that the store is very fragrant, which can make it hard to smell the individual soaps in store, and can be overwhelming at first, and being on The Hill, the parking around generally sucks. I still recommend stopping in if you're in the area and picking up a bunch of soap.
EDIT: I wanted to clarify a couple of things based off of a reply to this review. First, thank you for information on better places to park, this will help. Secondly, I didn't mean to imply that Herbaria is overpriced, not at all. The soap is a great price for the high quality of the product, but just as a warning to new shoppers. Don't let the sticker price shock you, it's worth...
Read moreI first learned about Herbaria soap when the wonderful Cindy Gilberg gave me a bar to try after making a purchase at her beautiful nursery, probably about 15 years ago. I was instantly hooked and ordered the soap online until I moved back into St. Louis. Going to the shop is a real treat, more scents than you can imagine. I also buy the Citronella Mist, it's the most wonderful herbal body mist you could ever want. We use the Ant Away in the Spring, it's a lovely cinnamon scent, no bug spray smell. The Headache rollerball thing is awesome too! I never go out of town without my soap, even if I'm just staying with family. My house guests always look forward to taking home the rest of the soap that was in their bathroom....even the men! Several guests have asked where the shop is so that they could buy more to take back home. Not only do the soaps smell awesome, they rinse clean and never leave a film on either you or the tub. You never feel all dried out. Try it and you will be sold too, it really...
