Abela Story presents itself as a boutique with curated charm, but the customer experience tells a different story. There is no clear disclosure during checkout that returns do not result in refunds. You are only eligible for store credit, and they deduct a $3 processing fee to issue it.

They allow themselves up to 14 business days (essentially three weeks) to ship your order, but customers are given only 7 calendar days to initiate a “return”, which is not a return in the traditional sense. Once approved, you then have just 48 hours to send the item back. And if you try to cancel before shipping? Not permitted. These policies are buried on their site and not presented transparently before purchase.

The structure appears intentionally designed to retain your money while limiting your options. It favors the business at every turn, offering them flexibility while placing all risk on the customer. To make matters worse, the quality of the items is underwhelming and does not reflect the price point.

Using the word “return” while omitting that it only results in store credit is misleading at best. This is not a customer-centered approach. It is a restrictive, outdated model that prioritizes profit over integrity. Completely egregious operating model. DO NOT SHOP HERE!

Edit to respond to owner on June 2, 2025: I did reach out, on 3 separate occasions, each time you were completely inflexible. And for you to say that this is untrue, when I dug for your policies, is wild. Also, if you work with your customers and care about their experience using verbiage like “friend” (with a condescending tone), and then saying my experience is untrue (essentially calling me a liar), does not indicate that. This family owned Amazing Boutique is the best boutique you will ever find. The owners and their crew are so kind and very welcoming. The store front, website, app & the Fb lives are the best you will find compared to anyone else. The quality of the clothes are hands down the best. You can find anything you are looking for from work out clothes, pjs, swim suits, jeans, dresses, work attire, shoes etc.. all the good things. She has sizes to fit each and every one of you. Someone like me who is curvy has a hard time finding clothes in general Abela is the perfect place for you. Plus sizes and all sizes in one store how can you beat that. I had the opportunity to visit the store on their grand opening day! The layout of store is well planned from the lighting, decor, and fitting rooms. The variety of items they carry is amazing from clothing, accessories, home goods, etc. It's an amazing one stop shop for all your gifting needs. My favorite part about this boutique is all of the outfitting they had done throughout the store. I love to shop full outfits and they did not disappoint. I was able to buy an entire outfit I would have never been able to put together myself. Also, their customer service was amazing, even on a busy grand opening day.
