I ordered a custom engagement ring for my fiancée. The process started off well, I gave them my design and three weeks later I picked up my ring.
That’s when it all fell apart. After proposing to my fiancée, I noticed that the ring was a bit big and the prongs were catching. Michael assured us a quick sanding of the prongs and resizing shouldn’t take more than a day.
Michael called me later that day saying the prongs were too small for his standards and needed to be bigger to avoid compromising the stones. He said he would like to remake the ring at no cost to us, just that it would take a few weeks. We had absolutely no problem with that and were fine with it.
On receiving the second ring the larger prongs made the stones sit weird and the design no longer looked as intended. We took the ring back and asked to have the prongs sanded down to give it more of the original look. I was assured that this was no big deal and easily done in a day. This was not the case. When attempting to remove the stones, one was chipped and a prong was broken.
Michael assured me that these things happen with custom jewelry and this is part of the process sometimes. Michael remade the ring a third time, with the original size prongs.
After what was supposed to be a 1-2 day job, turned into a month of back and forth. We did ask that the final ring be completed by December 17th in order to have it for the holidays. Otherwise, we would need to discuss a refund. To top it off when picking up my ring Michael was rude to my fiancée. The whole process left a bad taste in our mouths. The happiest memories of our engagement will always be stained with this stressful and...
Read moreThis is the very best of family-owned businesses. Michael and Maryanna (the owners) are so hands on, responsive, and customer-oriented. We decided to do a civil ceremony in quarantine when our larger celebration was postponed, and we needed wedding rings. Having never shopped for rings before, I had no idea how to size us, what we might like, etc. I sent Michael pictures of the ring designs we liked, and he overnight-shipped a sample of rings (we live in NYC) and in various sizes for us to try. We’d ultimately go back and forth with ring samples three times to optimize for sizing, but he still got us the rings just in time for our civil ceremony :) and he sent a custom-designed necklace from my mother as a surprise. There were days where I spent hours on the phone with Michael and Maryanna, who both patiently walked through ring sizing and design aesthetics with my husband and me - that’s excellent customer service, plain and simple. The funny thing is, I really could not find this kind of service at any of the jewelers or upstarts here in NYC. They just don’t pay as much attention. If you’re ever thinking of ordering any kind of jewelry, whether simple or custom, definitely talk to...
Read moreWhen my husband said he wanted to get me a special ring for our 10th anniversary I started looking. When I was in NY I saw a woman with a beautiful ring on her finger and had to ask her about it. She told me Michael at Trinity Jewelers in FL made it for her. She gave me his info. I kept looking for the perfect ring. In fact it was now coming up on our 11th anniversary (and now living in FL) that I took a trip, almost two hours, to Trinity Jewelers. Michael and Maryanna were so friendly, knowledgeable and patient with me as we looked at different settings. Michael sent me ideas he thought I would like and then sent me an email saying he had a ring he thought I would really like. My husband and I took the trek to the store and were amazed at the beauty of piece. It was so worth the wait to work with Trinity Jewelers on the ring of my dreams; The quality, the service, the price, everything. I will happily be making the trip to this store for all my jewelry needs...
