Colvard Student Union — Local services in Starkville

Nice and well maintained lobby. Food court, with typical chain like Chick-fill A, Panda Express, Pizza Hut etc. in typical lunch hour it’s really crowded. Sometimes expect a big queue in front of any of these. There is a Starbucks and a POD store. You will find all the necessary quickies ( charger, small medicines, quick lunch, soda, frozen meal chips, candies,coffee, hotdog, fresh fruits etc) in the POD. There is hair salon inside the union as well. The upstairs has few ballrooms, where there are frequent events like any fair, poster, small conference, talks etc. The union is really nice place to chitchat and relax with fellow students/ friends. People often sit here ( or inside the Starbucks) for homework/ assignments. You can meet people/ socialise here. There are bank ATMs inside. So, if you need sudden cash, or simply need a break, or need the lunch or just need a coffee, you know...

Not many options but good ones. Chik-fil-a is always crowded and the cashiers are just straight up mean sometimes, but the other places are fine and have nicer employees. The POD seems like it would be really useful if there were a microwave somewhere nearby to heat up the frozen food. Good for lunch on occasion but could see some improvement. The other areas of the union are lovely...

I was at MSU for the NCLC competition in March 2023. This building is awesome. It's like a mall-- there's a food court and a little gas station type market downstairs. I took a nap on one of the couches and nobody even disturbed me....
