Previously as we were walking about town, we stopped in and purchased a bakery treat. At that time I asked about the bagels. I was told they make bagels on Friday and Saturday. So... last week I went by on my daily walk... on a Friday. It was midday and fortunately they had some left from earlier, but I also was able to get some fresh baked bagels. Well to loop back, my first bagel was in Greenwich Village NYC and I have had a challenging time finding a good bagel anywhere but there. Fortunately I found a national chain that makes a proper bagel (boiled), but they were in Greensboro or Mooresville and California. Ok so this is the long way around to say this place makes good rather great bagels that have a nice dough on the inside and a decent chew on the outside. I highly suggest you heat them up in an oven at home and not toast them to retain the chew. This is the first local bakery in the U.S.A. that I have found a great bagel. Awesome: thanks!!!! Read moreLots of variety of amazing ice cream. Lots of Blue Bell brands that are never in stores anymore. Can buy anything from one scoop to a 5 gallon drum! Freshly made baked goods too. Pick 2 cookies and your favorite ice cream and they'll make you an ice cream sandwich. Yummy! Delicious! Side note: They only take cash! They do have an ATM inside though. It's a pretty small establishment. Only a few places to sit inside. Tables are offered up and down the sidewalk outside though. They make cakes, donuts, brownies....you can sample any flavor of ice cream, have a milkshake made, and also get a coffee. It has a very local retro soda shop vibes. Decor is also retro. Cute place. Used to be a barber shop a long time ago. Location is smack dab in the middle of downtown...

Donut was fine, just average. Average size, average taste. Not really competing with Dunkin or Krispy Kreme as noticeably better, but still pricier. (In fact hot and fresh Krispy Kreme is waaaay better.)
Chocolate chip cookie is good, best thing I got there. But for $4 and it isn't even very big? Ugh. Super ugh.
So it's a local sweet shop in its over-pricing, yet not really good enough to justify the extra price. Unless you just want to stick it to chain stores, it's not worth it at all...
