We tried them twice. Second time worst than first. They changed lesson requirements which communicating new requirements cause my daughter not to receive her belt. Building her self-esteem back fired. Every-time I asked for a copy of the contract I was denied. I signed up for a program, then was told I would we be paying more than originally told. My daughter did not learn, I have video of my daughter and other kids sitting bored playing with the stickers on the mat, cause the instructors only focused on the advanced kids. The kids that needed help are ignored. When graduation came, which you pay extra for. I saw that my daughter was clearly not the only one , that many kids need instruction and are not getting it. The belt system here is another hidden fee. Response to SMA. I find this hard to believe as I have been talking with you for Months in person and via messenger. I talked to Bret Directly on both messenger and it a meeting. He responded with I will look into it. Perhaps I should just post the photos and months on messenger communication. Then maybe you will remember...
Read moreOur four year old twins have been going to SAMA since July of this year. At the beginning of their first class, our daughter didn't want to participate; she was overwhelmed by the new experience. Mr. Hamlin sat with her the whole time, gently encouraging her to participate as she felt comfortable, and by her second class she was fully engaged. Our son was the opposite- a little too enthusiastic! Mrs. Hamlin has helped him learn how to control his energy and use his enthusiasm to help him listen and do his best. Both Mrs. and Mr. Hamlin differentiate lessons to meet the needs of the all their students, and provide excellent encouragement and support as they learn and master skills. The other instructors are also wonderful! Both my kids love that there's a mix of male and female instructors, and we love that all the instructors are positive role models. We've left every class knowing our children are having the best experience possible.
My husband and I feel like SAMA is a community treasure. We highly...
Read moreI joined almost 3 years ago at age 48, with my special-needs teen (then 16). He and I both have Aspergers, and trying new things is sometimes difficult for both of us.
It has been wonderful getting to be in class with my son and growing closer with him. I'm pleased it's made him more confident in himself as well as giving him a new area of interest.
For me, it's improved my overall quality of life, getting me in the best shape I've been in, in over 20 years, even with some medical limitations I have. I love that the training takes into consideration each individuals aptitudes and physical needs. Training at SAMA has also made me more confident in most every other area of my life.
The entire staff at SAMA are top notch, just wonderful people who really encourage students' growth and overall well-being. I can't recommend the place...
