I’m new to the area so when I looked for a dealer to take care of my car I went to the one in my town. That worked fine for oil changes and recall work but when my car suddenly acted up things were different. I called right away and explained the problem. I was told that they only work by appointment and I could drop it off the next Monday (they don't do weekends) and leave it, they would work it in when they could. It might be a week... So I would have to rent a car for up to a week! I talked to a friend who told me he never goes to dealers in our town always takes his to Spearfish , this opened a new door for me and I started looking out of town. I found Scott Peterson Ford in Sturgis. I called and talked with the nicest man. I made an appointment for my next day off. The man told me if I get worried about driving the car or have any problem to call him right away and he will get me in and he has a loaner car for me if needed. Oh my goodness what a difference. Today was my appointment and you know it the car has acted fine every since that day but I went anyway and told them what happened and that it hasn’t done it again since. They had it 1 hour while I waited in their waiting room. Upon entering I was told to help myself to snacks, they had variety bottled water, juice for the kids, soda, coffee, some food, too. Very nice people focused on customer satisfaction. When my car was done they found nothing. It could have been a computer glitch who knows. My charge was $0 for a hours work. I really appreciate the small town comfy feel; the excellent attitudes by all and the quick service. I will gladly drive to another town for this type of experience. Read moreOn a Thursday afternoon in early September 2019, my husband and I were traveling near the Sturgis area, just 4 days into our 3 week vacation, when the electronic control system malfunctioned on our 2014 Ford F-250. We contacted Ford dealerships in Rapid City, Spearfish, Gillette, WY, and Sturgis. Every one of them told us they were at least 2 weeks out on their service schedule. However, Scott Peterson Ford (SPF) in Sturgis did offer that, if we could get to them, they would at least use their diagnostic tool to try to identify the problem. We got there but could not leave because the truck would not restart! With their assurance they would make every effort to try to work us in to their very busy schedule, we began trying to get a rental car for the next couple days. When, after calling every car agency in Sturgis, Rapid City and Spearfish with no success, SPF very graciously stepped in to help us find transportation. And, when they called us just over 24 hours later to say they had identified the source of the problem and fixed it, we were thrilled. We cannot speak highly enough of the service and staff at SPF (Service Manager, associates, and diesel mechanic; front office personnel; General Manager; and owner). Read moreI live in California and my elderly parents live in Rapid City. Unfortunately mom was in an accident that was not her fault, thankfully and more importantly than that there were no injuries. It did however total their car. Mom and dad were in no way up to the task of going from lot to lot trying to find the car that they wanted to have. and I think could very easily have been taken advantage of by the wrong kind of sales people. I did an internet search and found a car that had the safety features and other things that I knew they would be happy with. Jaclyn Smith was the person who answered the phone when i called. I explained the situation and asked if she would mind taking that car to Rapid City to my mom and dad's house to show it to them. She readily agreed to do just that and then did just that. To make an even longer story a little shorter, both Jaclyn and the other folks at Sturgis Ford absolutely went out of their way to take care of my parents! Before it was over, Jaclyn actually made several trips to my mom and dad's home to help them with one thing or another on their car. That was not a short drive either.
