We bought 4 Michelin tires and had them installed at Farm and Fleet in Sturtevant. They were put on in March of 2021. They had an 80,000 mile tread life warranty. 2 of the tires on the front wore down to bald by Dec.of 2021. So 9 months after purchase. I took it to their store in Oak Creek because Sturtevant was booking out at least 3 weeks or more. They replaced them with no hassle. But they were pro rated. I wound up paying about half the cost. It seemed wrong to me because they were only 9 months old. But I paid it. Then the other 2 went bald about 7 months later. The charge this time was 140 per tire. The original cost of the tires was 209.00 /tire. So again, not much of a warranty. We had a trip planned and scheduled the work for the same day as our trip started. Sturtevant was too busy so they scheduled it for Oak Creek @ 10am. I get there on time on the lady says I have nothing scheduled for you today. I called and the appointment was scheduled for Sturtevant. I had 20 minutes to get there. When I got there I was a bit upset. Then then lady there says she needs to see proof of a rotation. I said it’s only been a year. But that was their rule. You have to rotate them ever 10k miles. I was furious. Then the Manager Kevin stepped in and he was one of the kindest and helpful person I’d ever met. He went out of his way to satisfy the problem. He took it upon himself to personally work on my van himself. It was the best example of what a good manager should do to make a problem corrected. So we left satisfied. Then a week later our battery went bad. So when we went in, Kevin recognized us and took care of helping us. I went out to the parking lot to put the new battery in. I grabbed the wrong size socket from home and was getting ready to buy one. Kevin then pulled his car next to mine , opened up his tool box and said use whatever you need. I was done quickly and back on the road. Kevin is the best manager that I’ve ever dealt with in any store or shop ever!!!!! Thank you Kevin and your help was sincerely appreciated. If I was Farm and Fleet I would use Kevin as an example to all the employees when they are trained and I would do what I could to keep him on board and moving forward. Scott...
Read moreThe automotive Department is failing badly at getting it right lately. Had two bad experiences in less thatn a month. The firsrt trip over 3 hours to get just front brakes and rotors. We were told it would be 1 to 1/12 hour jpb. But then after the 3 hour wait. We were told now you need brake calipers but they were not in stock. No one called as tjey said they would after a week of waiting. We called to see when our parts would be in. They put ours on someone else's truck.we called several more times before finally 2 weeks later getting parts. Got an appointment and no one called to confirm until I called the day before to make sure everything was finally in order. Dropped our vehicle at the scheduled time, 7 hours to get brake calipers and a set of nerf bars put on. When we got back to pick up our vehicle after giving them 6 hours to finish We were told after they inatalled the calipers. We now also needed new lines. Which of course were also not in stock. And when they got them, they received the wrong parts from the parts supplier and had to send someone to go back to get the right ones. Finally got the replacement parts 15 minutes to closing. Since we drove 40 miles with two vehicles. We demanded they stay past closing to finish the repairs. As we were not going to make a third trip to get this job finished. Sad to see what used to be a good palce to get repairs done has failed now so badly. Blains please get some well trained mechanics and fix your department problems in your Automotive Department. You will be losing business...
Read moreOnline ordering is pointless. On multiple occasions items they are happy to take your money for immediately they call later and inform you they don't have. Nevermind it takes days to refund your purchase, and woe be to the poor soul who picks up a partially filled order and expects a refund for the missing items. Also worth mentioning that they are so accustomed to this happening that that their customer service is particularly rude and short about it. They not only accept the problem they seem very comfortable with it. I have always liked F&F but this would sour anyone. If anyone doubts this please by all means walk around the store looking at items online and comparing the actual count to what they show online. They are apparently less capable or willing to take a legitimate inventory than even Sears.
Updated review while the online inventory is still a mess, store management turned out to be very receptive and eager to reach successful resolution. I ended up feeling a little bad that they ordered an item shipped from a location in Illinois around the same time I had taken an hours drive to find the same item in in stock in Wisconsin that the online inventory and corporate office was quite sure wasn't in stock. The long and short was online inventory listed an item as in stock in one place and out of it an hour and a half away as out. Was exactly backwards. Kudos to the sturtevant manager although I'm still taken aback a but by the initial employee who called. As much as I like Farm and Fleet I hope this system gets fixed...
