Had a delightful Christmas Tea with my mother today thanks to a groupon for tea for two. When we arrived at the tea house and it looked like a Christmas card: this little house was decorated eloquently with garlands, gold decorations and even had its window shudders and trim painted red for the holidays. The lovely owner greeted us when we entered and escorted us to the a table upstairs that was already set up. Again, there was an old-world Christmasy charm to the decorations in the room that went right down to the teacups. She left us for about 10 minutes to serve the other party, which was just enough time for us to take in the decorations, and returned with shrimp and corn chowder ( which was to die for), fresh grapes, and a lovely Christmas blend black tea served with cream in a winter themed teapot . After we finished, she promptly returned, re-poured our tea, and served each of us the second course: two sandwiches ( chicken salad and pimento cheese), a petite four, and a scone, served to us on a two tiered tea tray. The chicken salad had just the right amount of relish, the pimento cheese had real cheese and just enough pimentos to cut the richness, and the petite fours were a delightful almond angel-food cake with a lemon glaze that was impossibly light and airy. After we finished, we talked for a bit, and finished the last of the tea. We left full of warm tea, delightful food, and holiday cheer. I can't wait...
Read moreI loved everything about this place! Diane is the owner and she was very nice helpful and knowledgeable about her tea. I visited because I had a Groupon voucher and my sister and I went even though it was a drive, it was worth it. It was such a lovely place and she also had soothing music playing in the background that fit the place. I had the tea for two which included a pot of her holiday tea for the upcoming holiday, two petite four, two scones, two sandwiches and for an additional $3 we received soup. The sandwiches were delicious and so were the soups! We were surprised to find ourselves so full being that everything was in small portions. She offered us a second pot of tea but it was green tea , now even though the holiday one was good (the first was a black tea and second was a fruity green tea) I just love green tea! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely visit again probably around spring/summer as I'm sure that place will be...
Read moreA lovely time was had and many aspects were top notch. First, the food! Sooo delish! Really good quality and beautifully presented. The teas we chose were also great. Only cavat, the tea pots were extremely heavy and hot and difficult to lift and pour. I think having a server assist with this would add an element of safety and comfort for the guests. Especially for the elderly. The room we chose was stunning! The other areas were equally lush and welcoming. We definitely would return for a special occasion. Ease of reservations was a plus. It is a bit expensive, but a unique experience. My only complaint was the lack of attention to the outside/entrance...dead flowers, dirty porch, very small business sign. Maybe try replicating some aspects of an English garden, and/or seasonal decorations, and some pressure washing? First impressions begin...
