June 26 2024. Went to Buford dam and just checked it out. Last time I was here, I was about 9 or 10. I'm 63 now and it's changed but not so much that I don't recognize it. It's amazing how well I remember it. The wooden foot bridge was open back then though. I remember fishing off the mud bank while the water was down and wading about up and down stream. The sirens went off so of course we got out. Believe me,you couldn't fight that onrush of water when the gates are opened. Today I just walked downstream and back appx. an hour. Mainly remembering Darryl my cousin, Uncle James and Aunt Joyce, also my two brothers Cullen and Barry, Mom and Dad.
