So some background. A month ago, my wife & I went to the OC Auto Show. We went for mainly one reason. It was to check out the Jeep Wrangler. Keep in mind that my wife has always wanted a Jeep Wrangler but it was never the right time or just wasn't a practical family vehicle. Anyway, we got to go on a ride along where the Jeep driver showed us what the Wrangler was capable of. After the test drive my wife was hooked even more so than she'd ever been. We then saw a Wrangler on the showroom floor with the 75th Anniversary Package with Saddle Brown Leather interior. She was in love with the interior and earlier in the day she saw someone driving a tan (Mojave Sand) Wrangler on the street. That was the color combination that she just had to have with the 75th AE package.
After the car show, we decided to throw practicality out the window and get a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The problem was finding it in the color combination & package that she wanted. We searched all over the US and there were only 5 to be had. Of course now we had to deal with finding a dealer that would be willing to work with us since we also had to either trade in or sell our existing vehicle before we could buy the Wrangler. Since my wife's BDay was coming up I decided to do all of this incognito since I already knew I had her blessings and just tell her that we couldn't swing a deal with any of the dealerships.
The first dealership I contacted was Jackson Family of Dealerships and boy am I glad I did. I looked at their website and found out that Drew was the General Sales Manager so he was the guy I wanted to speak with. I spoke to Drew and explained my situation and what I was looking for. From the moment I started talking to him I knew he was genuine and was willing to help in any way he could.
Drew was able to work his magic and we were able to come to an agreement on the trade in of our current vehicle and purchase price of the Wrangler. Drew handled all the paperwork which he sent to me to sign and was very meticulous and detailed about what needed to be done. The entire two week process went as smooth as I could have ever hoped for. It did take longer than just going to your local dealership but that's to be expected when you're dealing 2000 miles away.
After all the paperwork was signed and the bank finished their approval it was time to get an auto transport company to pick up the Wrangler. This was the most gut wrenching and tedious process as it took longer than I thought to find a driver to pick up in Sullivan, IL. When I finally found someone to pick up the Wrangler, Drew was there every step of the way to ensure the Wrangler got on the auto transport and was on its way.
A week later the Wrangler was delivered and I was elated that it was here. To be honest, I was actually somewhat skeptical about the whole process as this was a long distance deal and I didn't think it would come to fruition. I had to pinch myself a number of times to make sure I wasn't dreaming. It was a long 4 week process in which I had to keep it a secret from my wife. That was tough to do cause I knew how much she wanted the Wrangler and I could just see the sadness in her eyes.
When I finally got to surprise my wife with the Wrangler her elation and happiness was priceless and well worth the efforts that it took to get the Wrangler for her. It's definitely a BDay that she won't forget. I don't think she has stopped smiling since she got it.
We are both very grateful for all that Drew and his team has done to make this a reality. Drew went above and beyond and many times I wondered why as I'm sure he could have sold the Wrangler to someone local and not have to deal with all of the hassles. We're sure glad he didn't though. Drew is a great guy and made the entire process as seamless as possible.
Thank you so very much to Drew and Jackson Family of Dealerships for helping me surprise my wife and making this all possible. ...
Read moreI give them 3 stars because they did well in some areas and not so well in others when I purchased a 2011 Silverado in December 2018. I used their website to look at the Silverado and determine trade in value for my 2008 Mariner. Trade in value from their website was $2500ish (I cant remember the exact amount). It Kelly Blue Booked at $4500 private party. When I came into the dealership the salesman offered me an insulting $200! When I told him I would not give them my vehicle with no mechanical defects for $200 he said he could go as high as $300 and that it would likely end up at a junkyard. Yesterday I sold that vehicle for $3,200. Less than a week after purchasing the Silverado the muffler fell apart. When I contacted the salesman he said that because I didn't purchase a service package there was nothing he could do and "didn't have a leg to stand on" with his manager. Now, these two things give them the 3 star rating. If it wasn't for the fact that his manager contacted me after an angry email and fixed the muffler for free since it fell apart days after buying they would be at one or two stars. He also worked with me on the price of the Silverado getting to what I was willing and able to pay. They also have a friendly service department but I think they may over charge at times. Another vehicle hit my driver side mirror and busted it it so after buying the replacement from autozone i asked Jackson to install it because i didn't have time. They charged me an hour of labor to remove the inner cover and a couple bolts, remove the old mirror and install the new one. The process to accomplish this might take an inexperienced mechanic 30 minutes at most and I'm being generous. I've done this before and it does not take an hour. But they swapped it and replaced the headlamp wiring harness which was the original reason for the appointment and everything works as it should. I was a mechanic for the Army National Guard for almost 15 years and my wife is a full time mechanic for the Army National Guard. So we know a little about how long it takes to just swap parts when there is no diagnostics involved. We will continue to use them because they are good at troubleshooting and accomplish repairs in a timely manner. I'm not sure if we will purchase another vehicle from them but if we do we will use a...
Read moreJeremy was great from start to finish. Absolutely outstanding! Last Friday I flew into Indianapolis to purchase my 6th vehicle over the internet in the last 7 years. I got a great truck at a very good price. I am a chaplain currently stationed in South Carolina and I could have bought a truck from anywhere; Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, Oklahoma North Carolina etc but I bought one in Southern Indiana from Jeremy at Jackson. Jeremy was honest, straight forward and did what he said he would do. No sales manage tricks etc. I had been in contact with a few of the biggest Dodge dealerships in the South / Southeast that have the highest volume of sales and biggest online presence and their salesman and service did not stand in the shadow of the customer service I received from Jeremy and his sales manager. When I flew into Indianapolis, one of their drivers was there to pick me up. Max was a wonderful retired local and great company on the hour journey to Clinton. When I got to the dealership the truck was better than I expected and had features I did not even realize, not expensive features yet features that are important to me. They had addressed all the recalls on my 2014 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel, changed both fuel filters, filled it with fuel & DEF fluid, put new pads on the front brakes and turned the rotors. The vehicle they sent out the door was truly ready to go. FYI, when I inspected the vehicle I was on my back underneath the vehicle with a flashlight for at least 5 minutes; their service department did their job. While I have not purchased a second vehicle from any previous dealership, next time I will give Jeremy a call especially if it is a Dodge or Chrysler product I need. ...
