Given the other reviews of this shop, it appears that I got stuck with the new guy who needs a bunch more training (I was a walk-in, so I did not pick my barber). He seemed flustered when I sat down, and his English was somewhat broken. The lady cutting hair next to him tried to help explain to my barber what I was asking for regarding my cut - undercut with a 4 guard, and about a 1/2" off the top and bangs. Then he wet my hair and combed it straight back, and asked if that is how I normally style my hair. I said I style my hair like it looked before he combed it straight back. I probably should have left at this point or requested a different barber, but the lady barber next to us sensed that I was nervous and reassured me that my barber was good. At the beginning of the cut, he kept checking his phone for text messages and took a call while cutting my hair. He actually had the phone up to his ear talking while cutting my hair. I told him to take the call if it was important and then continue cutting when he was able to focus his attention on my cut. Which he did, and I sat there for a few minutes while he took the call. Afterwards, he told me his sister was shopping for a car and wanted to talk (clearly important enough to interrupt my cut). Ultimately all the guy did was taper cut my sides and back - no undercut. And he didn't cut anything off the top or bangs. At this point he handed me the mirror, and asked how it looked. I asked if we done, and he said yes. I stated that he hadn't cut anything off the top or bangs. He said he already cut that, but he could take more off if I wanted. It is not like I walked away, and he cut that part of my hair while I was gone. He never touched that part of my hair. Frustrated at this point, I opted to end the cut and leave. I will say that the other barbers in the shop appeared to be taking their time with their clients, so I suspect that obtaining a good cut in the shop from another barber is possible (hence the positive reviews). But I can only provide feedback on my experience, which...
Read moreIntroduction: This is my first time at Henry's Barber because my regular place was closed due to Labor Day weekend. I normally don't like to switch Barber's due to past experiences. Well, this time, I am glad. Here's why!
Customer Service: 5/5 I truly wish I can give Viet 10 stars, unfortunately, only 5 is available. Viet was personal, professional, accommodating, courteous, etc etc. Truly, the list goes on and on and on. This experience was definitely a WOW experience.
Atmosphere: 5/5 I have one word to describe the atmosphere here. It was cozy, friendly and just feels so less chaotic. This is probably due to the fact that they welcome appointments. Which I truly appreciate. I usually throw my Sundays away at places that do not embrace appointment setting.
Cleanliness: 5/5 I don't use the word IMMACULATE very often, unless they truly deserve it. At Henry's, they do, I can't even believe it's a Barber, everything was so clean I can eat off the floor. Seriously!
Price: 5/5 Who cares when you come to an immaculate place with EXCEPTIONAL service like Henry's. Totally well deserved, you'll know why when you read my TIPS section, believe me, you want to read it entirely.
Tips: Ok, so there's bad, ok, good, great and brilliant (usually 10%) in anything. Employees, businesses, culture, etc. Let me tell you, Henry's Barber is brilliant.
I have been dying to find a Barber that shampoos your hair after a haircut upon request. Yes, I usually have places to go to afterwards. But I usually have to go home and shower before I go on with my day cause I have hair all over me. Not to mention, I already waited 2 hours. So definitely, there goes my Sunday.
In addition, whatever brand they utilize for my hair was WOW!!!! My face and head felt super rejuvenated afterwards. Furthermore, I also observed Henry (the owner) and Denise was super friendly when they were engaging with their customers.
If you think I found a new Barber, you think right. Thanks for the great experience guys. I will also be giving you guys...
Read moreFrom the Google page It seemed like a decent place and the cost was mid range ($45 beard and hair ,just the sides,) the attempted barber showed up to his appointment 15 mins late. He rushed through the whole thing. Didn’t use razors to do my beard and still managed to irritate and make my skin bleed right before my date. I asked him to do lines on my side and I already have a scar so I asked him to line it up with my scar and he made a nice “Y” shape on the side of my head being unable to make a parallel line. “I’ve been to 24 countries and almost always get a haircut in each country and no one has ever done that before” This place is super close to my house but to be honest I couldn’t wait to leave his chair I jumped out as soon as he was done. He also did a poor job wrapping the cover around me as I discovered half my cut hair was hanging from my clothes once I arrived home. I’ve never paid $45 to someone just to rush home and shave myself again before going out to my date. I am a big supporter of small businesses as I own one and my father R.I.P was a barber when he was young. He treated this profession as an art and was always proud of being a barber. It saddens me to see how people can be so careless about this. I mean the barber himself and the place that keeps him around they definitely do not deserve my repeat business. Also when I asked him to see if he was going to use razors 🪒 he said that would have been extra $20 it was a relief and also made me a bit upset. The anger came from it being a complete ripoff as the experience was nowhere near a $65 haircut and the relief was from assuming what could have gone wrong with his unskilled rushing hands with a razor added to the mix I don’t...
