Millstone Farm Market — Local services in Sunderland

I had been a regular customer for approximately 27 years. The business was sold, and they did make some great improvements. I wemt to Millstone one evening about 20 minutes before closing, we were allowed to purchase hamburger patties, however, cheese was a big NO!! Apparently they had cleaned the cheese slicer 20 minutes before closing; luckily the Sunderland Corner Store was more than happy to slice us some cheese. I continued to shop there, and purchase Rib eye Steaks on a weekly basis. I don't mind paying their $16 per pound for a Rib eye steak, as I believe in supporting local businesses. On Memorial Day weekend, they apparently decided to go from their stand cut, to cutting all their Rib Eye Steaks to all be 2lb Steaks. $33 for 1 steak and over $60 for 2 Steaks. When I asked for a small cut they refused. I called and spoke to " A manager" to voice my disappointment, the manager was very polite. I asked the person to have the owner call me. I did this on 2 occasions, NO PHONE CALL. Clearly the new owner doesn't care about the experiences of long time devoted customers. I now drive the extra 10 minutes Atkins. I buy my cold cuts especially roast beef they are reasonably priced cheaper than the supermarket the product is fresh home-baked I also buy my meat packs they have different meat packs you can buy for your freezer their store is a typical Country store you'll find all sorts of neat things to buy Jeff owns the store and he is really a pleasant guy who's willing to help you with questions if you have trouble finding a certain item he will certainly find it for you or direct you to the place he knows that carries update. The owner of Mike's Maze is the new owner of Millstone. I've heard it's amazing with new improvements to the store,same great sandwiches and homemade soups and extended hours Monday thru Sunday. 1. Although this is a market, their deli is absolutely off the charts good. The roast beef sandwich is piled high with super high quality meat (and is also ~6 bucks). Pastrami sandwich is also extremely good (I'd ask for it thinly sliced since by default it's a thicker slices.) 2) For some reason there's also a butcher-shop level selection of pretty high quality steaks and meats in here, and the prices on those are really quite good.
