Trove of Collectibles — Local services in Sunset

I had been DYING to get my hands on the Prismatic Evolutions… Scalpers had made it impossible. At the Layton Hills mall, my husband and I came across a vending machine that had all kinds of varieties of TCG packs. In the top right corner, there they were in all their glory. Prismatic Evolutions packs. A gentleman was working on the vending machine, and we asked him how much they were charging for a pack. After a very pleasant conversation with this gentleman, I ended up buying 10 packs at a discount— and an 11th on the house. He saw how much this meant to me, as I am a collector and absolutely adored the arts in this set. He directed me to the main location in Clinton. I had spent enough money to basically have bought the Binder Collection— of which he told me I could go pick up from the main location. Once I got there, I met the owner. He had just opened up shop and was still setting up his inventory. I ended up buying quite a few things from him as well as picked up the binder. He was incredibly generous and his customer service was top notch. His prices are some of the most reasonable I’ve seen in a long time. I have played Pokemon in every LGS store in northern Utah and this one is by far the worst. The owner can’t run a tournament to save his life. Everything is overpriced and not single card has a sticker price. Went in for their local Pokemon tournaments with “free” entry. Took 1st place to only be told there would be no prizing…..only store I’ve seen that does absolutely nothing for the players, but the owner should have said something before I wasted my time and signed up to play. If I knew there be no prizing I would have just left and saved 3 hours of my time. What makes matters worse I even offered to buy a product from them and for my “prize” they should just sell the new set at MSRP to me. They still would have made money, but owner stood firm on his marked up price and let me know he is doing nothing for the players. Sad store, that no one should give a chance. I’m not asking for handouts, but be upfront with your players if you plan to do nothing for prizing. Last thing as well, when I let the owner know that it’s pretty standard for card stores to give prizing for tournaments, he replied with “ we are not most card stores.” This store is not like most card stores for all the...

Very clean, bright and well kept store. Immediately greeted by super helpful, professional and friendly owner. Great environment inside to shop and trade. This is the best local card shop around. Tons of raw and graded cards. Really like that they have a website and can get reward points for shopping there. I picked up a Blastoise and Japanese charmander that I’ve had my eye on for a while now that we’re both under market price on TCG Player.
