This store is a DIAMOND in the rough! Itās a bit hard to find the first time if you arenāt familiar with the area but is actually in a āGREAT LOCATION ā near freeway exits or entrances. Great for stopping in to have something looked at or repaired with a fast and reliable turn around. They have a very knowledgeable staff working on repairs. Or to make a quick sale HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY Accommodating with purchases and offer fair and reasonable pricing on items Iāve sold! They generally offer cash or higher credit to use at the location! Or just to have a browse around to see what new merchandise is available. Theyāre one of the ONLY STORES IVE SEEN that always have new āRAREā or hard to find video gaming consoles, games and accessories. I personally have seen old rare Ataris, Intellivisions, Collecovision, Atari Jaguar, Panasonic 3do, Saga, Nintendo(they had a power glove and a Rob the robot), PlayStation, Xbox and many more systems and games!! They also have several hand held or actual old ARCADE machines. All of which are for sale for reasonable prices or have even been negotiable on some items! The owner Camdon is always very pleasant and friendly to work and talk with ( I believe he even does taxes for a great price š¤©). I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS STORE, also very clean and organized ( at least up front in the costumer area, lol). But itās definitely a great place worth checking out and finding those hard to find or one of a kind item. So tell others and stop bye and check it out!!! Very satisfied customer š!!
P.s.I forgot to mention the large number of old board games and dvds and blue rays they also had available at great prices!
P.s.s. I love that they are also LGBTQ friendly. I have a stepchild thatās Transgender so coming from the strait hetro man, THANKS FOR JUST BEING YOU, AND EXCEPTING ALLā¦..You...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe staff is great, very friendly. However I have had two problems with this place that make me not able to rate it higher than a 2. First, I called and asked if they had a particular game in stock. They said they did, so I headed in. I checked the shelves, and it wasnāt there. I asked the person behind the counter. After ten minutes, they told me they must've made a mistake and didn't have it in stock after all. I ended up buying it somewhere else. On another occasion, I brought in a rare GBC game that wasnāt booting. I left it with the people there, and after a couple of days, their technician called me. They said the ROM chip was fried and the game was unfixable. Dejected, as this was a nearly $150 game, I went and picked it up. To their credit, I was not charged. I hung on to the game, and after a while I took it to another repair shop. They took it in the back, and after ten minutes they came back with my game, fully repaired. This store seems to have potential, but my first two experiences with it being negative have made me reluctant to go there again. EDIT: In reply to the owner that replied to my review: That might be the best response to a review I've ever received. I appreciate the ability to take criticism. I like the policy change. That one thing really soured me on your store, but I may try again next time I'm in the market for something. As for the fix, I took it to Game Changerz. The tech there told me all he did was reflow the solder joints as some of the pins connecting the ROM chip had come up. Good luck...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a proud owner of a game store in Denver and a vacationer on a 4-day SLC adventure, I turned my trip into a little mini-retro raid ā and Retro Game Wolf did NOT disappoint.
First off, the vibe was super chill and welcoming. The store was spotless and organized, making it easy to hunt down those nostalgic treasures. Sure, some shelves were still filling up with weekend trade goodies, but that just added to the anticipation ā like a treasure hunt, right? The selection was decent, with a good mix of classics and hidden gems. My wife and I grabbed a few items that brought back all the feels.
The staff? Total pros. Even while busy handling trades, the clerk stayed attentive and friendly ā you could tell they genuinely love the game culture. That kind of customer service makes you feel like youāre hanging out with fellow gamers, not just making a purchase.
All in all, Retro Game Wolf is a must-visit for any retro game enthusiast passing through SLC. Itās got that perfect blend of organized chaos and community spirit. Canāt wait to come back on my next trip and see what new treasures have...
