The owner has terrible customer service skills. Does not offer military discount and that’s ok but when on the phone she inquired if I was in the military. I said I am retired from the military. She didn’t acknowledge my service or say thank you for service which is what I always do out of respect for all who serve our country. She mentioned that I have to be under 250 pounds to ride the horse. So I came in 3 hours before my scheduled appointment to get weighed in. She acknowledged that I was on my way but when I showed up there was nobody around. Every time I have called this company the rudely ignored on the phone as she starts taking to other people while she is taking to me. She always puts me on hold as if the customer is not important. Well guess what you lost my $210. As I read more into her tours I see that the horses are old, the tour guides text during the tours Vice adhering to safety, and if there is a problem with payment overcharges or injury to customers the owner turns a cold shoulder. When I called in to do my weigh in she was originally very pleasant but when she learned it was me the guy who called in about the weigh in her attitude and demeanor changed. So in closing on my birthday I decided to not bother with a company where the owner is more focused on managing the horses and ignoring customers. I feel bad for the customers that got overcharged with the promised wine vouchers or souvenirs. I work in government contracts and it sounds like this company originally had a great idea to save horses and allow people to enjoy the scenery horseback riding. What they fail in is execution, customer relations, and honoring their commitment. I drove there in person and I saw how slow the horses go and I guess that is to enjoy the view but after reading these posts I am not sure if these previously abused animals are ok for human interaction. Let them roam free in a pasture if you want to rescue them don’t put them to work in their old age. I don’t want to ride an angry grandma horse who buck me off and injures me. I will stick with the horse stables at Camp Pendleton for you military folks. I am sure there are other companies in Temecula that respect customers needs and value safety. When I finally did drive up and the the woman who keeps putting me on hold she is not a bad person she is a nice lady that loves horses. She was obviously preoccupied with the logistics of organizing the horses. My advice is have someone assigned as a safety supervisor, have a professional person handle customer relations. Then you can walk around and oversee everything. Without the customers your business fails. My one start is for the horses and the good intentions that fall short of performing logistically. Show up on time ready to go. If we are paying money we have an expectation according to the contract. Provide what is promised. Ensure safety. When things go wrong don’t ignore the customer. Your idea is great your execution is poor. Maybe these 5 star ratings aren’t real. All I know is learning that one person was injured and your insurance did not cover their claim is a serious violation. Someone was charged twice and you didn’t respond? If this is true shame on you. I think you should go to In and Out to learn how customers are treated. You treat horses better than people. That’s just my...

THINGS THEY CAN IMPROVE TO HELP NEW CUSTOMERS:
A little more information on what to do after you are done riding the horses and where to go for the wine tasting. we had no idea where to go or anything . I think moe information about the entire process will be hepful
WATER : At the end of the your tour I wish they will offer you a bottle of water because you will get thristy . Even if is a small little bottler I think it will be nice and customer will appreciate the gesture. I really think the water is something that is needed it after that long ride and the experience is not cheap , COMPLIMENTARY BOTTLE OF WATER CAN HELP SPECIALLY ON A WARM DAY.
Also it will be helpful specially if you are new to any of this as you check in if the ladies inform you of how the wine tasting work that they wil give you information for the wine tasty. I remember asking the lady so this is it and she was yes that is it. I was confused since I paid for 2 people and 2 wine tasting 20 x 2 =$40.00 and I had no idea that it was on a different place, If they can provide a little more information by letting you know " after your ride you need to go here to get your wine tasting." we had no idea.
I never got my wine tasting because I had no idea it was at a different location. So more information will be helpful
OVERALL WILL I RECOMMENT THIS PLACE TO ANYONE THAT WANTS TO EXPERIENCE HORSEBACK RIDING : ABSOLUTELY YES!!! , I saw how the horses are treated with love, and kindness, the ladies are experts and the horses are super calm. !! you are going to enjoy the...
Read moreI would have given this 5 stars if I could. 5 is perfect, and while this experience was awesome, it was not perfect. It was a perfect day for the ride, however, and our guide was great. He talked about the area and took pictures of the group on his phone. This was a big help, since my husband and I are both novice riders and so did not really want to let go the reins to take pictures. As with most horseback riding experiences, the horses know where to go, but they also paid attention to our commands, too, somewhat. My husband and I felt very safe on our horses and during the ride. All the staff were very nice; however, what was lacking is good information about where to go for the wine tasting. I had purchased the Deluxe ride, which was to come with a commemorative glasses. I had my voucher with me, but it did not list the participating wineries; other than the Maurice Car'rie Winery & Vineyard where you redeem your voucher. When I asked, the staff member pointed to the right and said, "Red", and to the left and said, "Sweet." We chose red, which was the Avensole Vineyard. This vineyard offered both red and white wines and a sparkling wine for tasting. When we asked about the glass, we were told that did not come with the package. So, when we got home, I checked the website for the details as my voucher only indicated that it was for a Deluxe Package, which includes: • 90-Minute Deluxe Fall Horseback Tour and Tasting Package includes: o 90-minute scenic guided tour through Maurice Car’rie vineyard o Tasting of six Spanish and Italian wines at Danza del Sol Winery o Souvenir wine glasses. So, according to this, we went to the wrong vineyard. Since this information was not included on the voucher and I had not committed this to memory, it would have been helpful if the staff at check in had this information. So, hopefully, the staff will be better trained regarding the tastings after the ride, or at least direct riders to the Maurice Car'rie vineyard tasting room or office for more...
