We had a great first week with our new and returning Colonels. We are so happy to be open and serving you again!👏🏻🍕🍔🥗 Please read the update below regarding dining dollars. ⬇️ If you are purchasing meals with dining dollars, please specify whether you have Munch Money or Munch Plus. Munch Money is what comes standard with a Resident Meal Plan, while Munch Plus is purchased separately. For example: 1. If you purchased dining dollars and you are a commuter, you would have received Munch Plus. 2. If you are a resident, you would have received Munch Money with your meal plan. 3. If you are a resident who purchased ✨additional✨ dining dollars, those additional funds are considered Munch Plus. Have a great and safe weekend! 😊 #nichollsstateuniversity #nichollsdining #college #collegedining #collegedininghall #collegefood #oncampusdining #geauxcolonels #welcomeback #diningservices #like #comment #follow #trending #viral #fyp #foryou #sodexo #sodexodining #coloneleats #colonels #nichollsgrub

For a college in Louisiana it's one of the cheapest and isn't terrible. I've went here since 2018 to get my master's degree. I've experienced plenty of different things, good and bad, on this college but I'd say the way this campus works is if you genuinely ignore the people who run the campus and only focus on school you'll get through it without a major issue outside of other students and the people you choose to interact with. I'll have very fond memories of being on campus from my time here.

However the people who run the campus are very two faced, don't allow professors with DOCTORAL DEGREES to do research papers like any other college, will take any deal with a government official for a new building but can't be bothered, or have the funds to, renovate and when they do they overspend. They've had multiple complaints about campus being pitch black at night and the walking trail hasn't been maintained in years despite multiple alumni using it. Peltier permanently smells like urine to me no matter how often they clean it. There are multiple classrooms that look worse than some of the classrooms I was in while in highschool.

The parking is notoriously bad and has been since the 60s. Teachers and students have to pay for parking. They tore apart the tennis court for more parking instead of paving a parking lot next to the alumni house at this point, (Yes I know they want to build a different one,) or colvuert behiy the baptist student center and pave it. The also put up a ton of "don't park here!" signs. Also they stopped ticketing students until, guess who, complained about assigned parking spots. The tickets are $50 then increase the more you get. You can give them any excuse and they will ignore it and force you to pay it. They've tried to give me one even when I wasn't a student in the correct visitor parking because I had a student decal from the semester prior.

They're more scared of a lawsuit than anything else but unless you threaten it they won't do anything if you have to do anything with title 9. It is a public campus so it's not entirely their fault but definitely can be alleviated with proactive responses that can be easily obtained through learning from previous issues. I've had some terrible experiences with some choice professors and students on this campus which genuinely should have been addressed by administration in a better way.

I will say I probably had way more interact with the backend then most students will ever have so take this with a grain of salt. However, if you're ever in the spot of needing to interact with them you need to know who you're interacting with.

Also the administration (not general staff, workers or teachers) is not big on LGBTQIA+, BLM or Palestine/Ukraine protests and just deal with it to not get in hot waters. As I've heard multiple times from the people who work in very high positions in the front make fun of or outright insult students correlated to these groups. I can't count on both hands the amount of times I've heard administration staff complaining about something students were trying to do, or even worse the professors. I've seen and heard multiple times administration do something with these groups or CROWN just because "good rapport" with those communities instead of genuinely care and compassion for the message they spread. Not saying they're all like this but the ones who are are the ones who make a lot of the big decisions on campus.

Convincing them to change their mind once it's set is futile.

Crawfish day is pretty baller though highly recommend going to that if you're a student. Also make sure to keep checking if you approve for scholarships. Apply to every single one just in case you never know. A paper you have to write for 3 hours is worth a $1,500 scholarship. I've gotten quite a few I didn't think I would just because I was one of the only few people who applied. Also, you're a student go checkout the different buildings on campus they can have some pretty cool events going on that would be fun to...

After being here almost a year I can say the staff is great and the school it's self is good however you are nickeled and dimed at every opportunity. Paying for things that you as a student may never use. Also the parking permits are ridiculous. I live on campus but I can't park in a hall parking area unless you have a commuter permit. The on campus post office hours are crazy. If you have a package sent to you and it's delivered on Friday don't expect to be able to get it til Monday or later. Also if it's during a holiday break there is no one working so for example if you receive Christmas gifts through the mail during Christmas break your not getting it til after Christmas. The staff are great but the school that is Nicholls State University is...

After being there 4 and a half years (I graduated December 2024), I must certainly say, I loved this university! All the instructors were nice, the course content was understandable, they have a cafeteria, a fitness center, places to hang out and/or do your work, etc., and just like every other college, it’s where you can go and make new friends! After graduating, it just comes to show you how great college life can be. If there was a way to put 10+ stars on Google Maps, then I would. For those of you that are looking for colleges in Louisiana, I highly suggest for you to choose Nicholls State after reading this review. I promise you that you won’t be...
