Going to seaside hwy was A parking lot.turned around Took the next hwy. Down. Tillamook was new destination! Wow bot bad of a hwy that rolls over coastal mountains. The west side has alot of Nice river scenes. The heat was to top 100 degrees in portland. The coast is always cooler. Coming down now there was camping ,fishing,and Best of all swimming spots Probably never would know? There was cars parked the Road in groups! Party spots the favorite swimming hole. Everyone should have a Favorite . So i didn't get to tillamook until all stores closed one gas station i was last customer. Where's the beach. Google says not there yet Drive in a 200 feet go right. Out of city into the farmland . Smelly place. We drove another 10 plus miles. Oceanside finally came around the bend cars pared every where? The ocean breeze ,smell of sand and salt . It was hard to find parking at Oceanside Beach, and I drove a short distance to this viewpoint.
The viewpoint has a small rocky trail to the beach with a number of small streams of water to walk through.
The beach is a great place to beachcomb for agates, and explore tidepools.
A small tunnel in through the towering cliffs at Maxwell Point will lead you to a hidden beach.
The tunnel is located in a small building in a rocky gravel area in the middle of the cliff.
Located on The Three Capes route south of Tillamook and near Cape Mears with very limited parking.

A bit warmer than other nearby coast locations, plus it's got a neat tunnel through the rocks at the north end to a rockier beach with some fossils.
