I stopped here because I was on the west coast for a wedding. I live in the DC Metro area, and this was the first time I have ever been to Oregon. Knowing I would be within a couple hours of the coast I planned to visit the shoreline on my brief trip. During my Saturday morning in Oregon, I drove all the way out from Portland for breakfast and to see shoreline. The unique shoreline was awesome full of rocks a small cave etc...The Blue Agate's place right on the water was so awesome. The restaurant is small, but everyone was so kind, the service was great, and the food was insanely good! This trip was a nice break from the Washington DC area where life seems to be moving much faster. That morning, I had the country fried steak/eggs with potatoes. I also picked the homemade biscuit instead of toast and I 100% would do it again. The pricing was fair and compared to where I live, very cheap and inexpensive. I am not sure I will ever be in Oceanside again in my life or if I will ever have the chance to eat at this awesome place again, but if I ever am, there is no doubt I will drive 100 miles out of my way to eat breakfast here again. I would love to see what it looks like on a sunny clear day! Thank you for your top notch customer service and expert advise on what to order! You guys are awesome; I am so glad I got to experience this place, a place I would've never known existed had I not been in Oregon/Washington...
Read moreStopped here on a quick trip to Oceanside for the day. This is a super cute little local restaurant with views from every table. It looks like this was once a house and converted into a restaurant. The menu had plenty of options both seafood and non seafood.
I started with a side salad and my dining partner got a cup of the clam chowder. Both were really good - the salad had a combination of spinach and green leaf lettuce, super ripe and juicy tomatoes, cucumber, parmesan cheese, and croutons. I got blue cheese dressing which was tasty and I think they make it in house. The clam chowder had great taste ahe was served with oyster crackers. Tons of chunks of clam.
For the entree I got the fish and chips and he got the shrimp and crab melt. The fish and chips were good, not great. I've had better at other seafood establishments but for the price (16) and the small town location I think they were adequate. The shrimp and crab melt was exceptional. It was served open faced with an apple pesto, tomato, shrimp, crab, avocado and cheese all on sourdough bread. This was also prices reasonably also at 16.00.
I don't believe alcohol is still served here as it was crossed out on the menu. Dry or not, we would...
Read moreIf you're looking for the best coastal spot for a wonderful and absolutely delicious meal. Look no further than the Blue Agate Cafe😍😋 We were greeted with a cheerful hello and has a beautiful view of the ocean. The menu choices were top notch, as was the food itself (I had a Coastal salad with made from scratch blue cheese, and everything was made not only deliciously but beautifully 🙌 The fish in chips were the best I've had along the whole Oregon Coast (so much so we got another order to go, for later lol) Thank you for such a great experience and such a terrific waitress (I could kick myself for not remembering her name 🙃) She was young, blonde and extremely cheerful🤗. We initially were at Roseanna's Cafe, but ended up leaving because no one greeted us when we arrived, their menu was very minimal and we were just a bit put off about it. We were just so happy to find this gem of Oceanside. Thank you again! We will...
