Food Lion — Local services in Timberville

Good selection, good prices. Much better meat selection and prices than Walmart. They also seem to be paying more attention to people who need or prefer allergen friendly and organic products like my wife.

I go here often for a better selection of meats and produce than Walmart has to offer. Walmart doesn't carry many of the things that this Food Lion does. They have fresh okra for example....Walmart stopped selling fresh okra several months ago. You want ground lamb or veal? Food Lion always has it....Walmart does not offer it or never has any in stock.

Beware of bait and switch. Been to this location twice and both times advertised sales were not honored. First time sign advertised pork chops and sign was in front of chops. Would not honor because it was intended for the pork loin. ???? 2nd time sign for St. Louis style ribs. Would not honor because the ribs intended were not on the floor even though sign is in front of St Luis ribs. Was told wrong ones. Asked why sign is up them and got a shrug of shoulders. Ended up removing from order both times. Take pictures prove yourself. Still will not honor but at pay you don’t get blinded...

Today my wife shopped at Timberville food Lion in Virginia in jamesway plaza. One of the cashiers Michael, was on the express lane, treated an elderly lady in front of her with great respect. Then when it was my wife's turn to be checked out he gave my wife the greeting of the day and helped her load her groceries... Some of the employees of this establishment should take pointers from Michael, Maybe even the manager.

Good job Michael will continue to come back...
