The ladies bathroom was clean & reeked of bleach, which is the #1 priority for me, period. If the bathrooms clean, you betcha the kitchen is cleaner. The heat was set high enough that I was actually getting too warm because I had over dressed in layers. I know it would have been perfect if I had not layered up. So that tells me that they are concerned with keeping their customers comfortable. The buffet, yes, it's a buffet and it had plenty of options for both of us. He's picky and only likes meat and taters & that was an option, so that's a win. The walt staff was perfect. Drink orders at seatings and the standard check after a plate full. They were chill enough to keep a distance so we didn't feel smothered, that's big for me too. They provide disposable plastic gloves to be used at every trip to refill at the buffer, very covid preventative aware. Again helpful. Plenty of options on the buffet but remember that this is a small town and most people in this area do not like spicy or overly flavored foods, so it is limited. They do offer various sauces and red chile for one to add to their food as wanted, so that's a win as well. Ok, so would I recommend this place? Yeah I would. Would I go back? Yeah I will. Is it a good value? Yeah it is. We were able to eat as much as we wanted for less than $25, including tip. I hope this helps you decide if it's worth a try. It...
Read moreWe went there last night, Friday, September 18th about 5:30pm and there was zero social distancing being practiced. Both buy the patron and the establishment owners.
When we got there everything looked as you would expect. Gloves and sanitizer were at the buffet. Smaller amounts of food in the buffet and a sign on the buffet asking that only 6 patrons be at the buffet at one time.
Shortly after we got there the tables filled up. Not just a few but all if them. The vast majority of the people going to the buffet did not wear a mask and did not use the disposable gloves.
We were very uncomfortable being back to back with other diners and I'm disappointed in my neighbors for not wearing masks.
These are the actions and attitudes that have pushed the US to #1 for Covid-19 in the world. My wife and I were excited to have our first meal out in many months but that won't happen again for a while unfortunately.
Everyone please think of the most vulnerable person in your life and put up with the small inconveniences of social distancing and wearing a mask in your lives to...
Read moreI've been to dozens of Chinese buffets in different parts of the country and, unfortunately, this was one of the worst I've tried. The selection was quite limited (LOTS of chicken items, a couple meat items, NO fish/seafood). You can tell a lot about a restaurant by visiting the restroom - and their men's room was filthy! It looked like the floor hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Our waitress was quite unfriendly and couldn't even be bothered to take our dirty plates. They just kept piling up on the table. She never came to our table to ask if everything was OK, or refill our water, etc. When she brought the check she ignored our pile of plates and never said a word, like "Thank you". I doubt I'll be in Timberville again, but I certainly wouldn't stop...
