Tipton Ford- 0 / 5 stars, if I could give negative I would.
STAY AWAY FROM TIPTON FORD in Tipton, Indiana!!! I seriously can’t stress this enough.
So, I am going to try and keep this as short as possible- but I want people to be aware of this dealership. We went to Tipton Ford to purchase a Ford Expedition Max on 11/5/2024. They took our Chevy Traverse in on a trade-in. We drove the Expedition on Wednesday— then not until again until Saturday night for an errand & Sunday to church. We instantly started having issues with the Ford Expedition — it was shifting hard and stalling while driving.
I reached out to our salesman & the GM of Tipton Ford right away. No return calls or emails. I also drove the Ford Expedition back to the dealership first thing Monday (11/11/2024). Where they instructed me to just bring it back that evening and their service department would look at in on Tuesday (11/12/2024). I started to leave the dealership and head to work where the Expedition acts up again so I had to turn around and go back to the dealership to leave it. Tuesday comes around the service department calls me and said that the transmission was going out. The service guy states the vehicle is definitely not safe to drive and they have ordered parts to fix it.
At this point, I asked if we can just back out of the deal/purchase of the Ford Expedition because both of our boys & my wife were nervous to ride in it after our experience. They stated that we couldn’t because they already paid off our Traverse trade in. Now, they did allow us to purchase something else on their lot in place of the Expedition.
So, we decided to purchase something else because they weren’t fully replacing the Expedition transmission.
Fast forward to 11/16/2024- our car payment for the Traverse comes out of our bank account. I called and spoke with the finance department at Tipton Ford on 11/18/2024 to figure out what’s going on… she answers and she has no answer, no one knows anything… she says she’ll have to talk to the manager to see what’s going on every time.
We call again today 11/25/2024– they answer the phone and then just send me to voicemail like they are trying to avoid the situation.
Karlee finally called off her phone this morning and the salesman that answered listened to what she had to say and said he would check with the manager and try and get us some answers.
As of today, 11/25/2024, the Traverse still hasn’t been paid off! It’s been 20 days since this transaction was made. (Supposed to be paid within 10 days in Indiana)
We haven’t heard anything back…. Honestly, not surprised though!
All I can say is stay as far away from Tipton Ford as possible.
We have had nothing but issues and their lack of communication is beyond unprofessional! They are full of empty promises and lies!
We have filed a complaint with the State of Indiana Auto Dealer...
Read moreWas helping a friend shop for a dependable used car. Used Autotrader.com and found a couple of vehicles that fit his budget.
Mailed the dealership through Autotrader website on 06/07. Email includes a copy to me and the dealer with the vehicle listed, VIN, price advertised BY THE DEALER on Autotrader.
I received a call that same evening to schedule an appt for 5:00pm the next day.
I received 2 phone calls on 6/8 to confirm the 5:00pm appt.
We drove 18 miles to Tipton. Once we arrived, we were informed that the vehicle was on a test drive for at least 30 minutes. Really? A 30 minute test drive?
So the salesperson, Casey asked questions regarding what type of vehicle was my friend looking for (even though we had specifically selected this vehicle AND the other 1 year older model/same price, but different trim and mileage).
Casey then informs us that Autotraders prices are incorrect and there’s “no way” they would sell those vehicles for that amount (both vehicles were listed on Autotrader for $17,888 and $17,867.
According to Autotrader, dealers are the ones that supply all of the information to them, including VIN, mileage, make, model AND price.
The fact that the vehicle “being held” for us to view was NOT there (and we were called 3 times to set the appt and verify the appt and time), and that it was on a ludicrous 30 minute test drive, AND now the prices (which I had confirmed on the phone when the appt was made AND it is included in the message sent to me and the dealer), we incorrect and $10,000-$12,000 more is a classic bait and switch to get people to come in and try and sell them something else at a far higher cost.
Within 18 miles (the approx distance I drove from Westfield) to Tipton Ford, there are over 70 car dealerships. I can assure you I would NEVER select this location due to bait and switch, shady...
Read moreWe moved back to this part of Indiana all excited about being close to Tipton Ford. Over the years we’ve purchased over six brand new trucks, and two cars for our company and our personal use. We would even buy a vehicle’s sight unseen by making a phone call. Can’t speak for the sales side but the service department has been horrendous. We have a two year old F150 that we purchased from another dealer. Anytime we’ve brought it in for service including a simple oil change it’s been an ordeal. This last go around included a sensor that they accused us of damaging by driving over something. Considering I’m a grandmother that doesn’t four wheel and no one uses my truck, that was a little insulting. Several warning lights had gone off on the instrument panel. They told us we had to buy a new sensor and it wasn’t covered under warranty. We suspected that we had animal damage as we had a squirrel that got up under there. In addition we had some light issues. We told them to put the sensor back in and that we would take it to another Ford dealer. That Ford dealer in fishers Indiana confirm the sensor was fine that the wiring just needed fixed. Saved us over $500 . They also informed us that the rubber boot that covers the sensor is made out of soy oil. That’s why the squirrels chewed on it and that we needed to get some type of product to cover that device and other devices. That’s in addition to us actually trapping the squirrels and relocating them. This is not the only issue we had as we had a wiper arm out of alignment that would hit the post of the truck every time you had the wipers on. On three different occasions, Tipton tried to adjust it with no luck. I just don’t think they have ...
