I had my son here about five years ago, he was born early, the nurses in the beginning where truly nice, while I was being looked after. During the time i was there 10/08/2018 and my son wasn't born till 10/10/2018 at 3:03am. I was almost on my death bed due to some problems i was have. My son was prefect okay but he wasn't supposed to be born till November 1,2018. So obviously they wanted to keep him in longer. They didn't take me till i was like 9 1/2cm and my kidneys were failing, my heart rate was really high, blood pressure wouldn't stay down. They medicine that i was giving made me feel like my body was on fire, even if i looked into the light aboved me. My parents had to put wet rags on my eyes and in my mouth to stay cool. Nurses were like in an out with the sound my thing kept putting out. In all honesty i was ready to let go, and told my parents plus my fiance (baby father) if something was to happen save my son. Which we both are alive thankfully, but after i had him the nurses after, were so rude. They had an training nurse even give me the Epidural which she messed up, made me throw up (before my son). Then after I had my son on an Wednesday, i had to personally stay till the Saturday because my body was still not doing good because again i was pretty much on my death bed. They kept moving me to smaller rooms like an broom closet, then every 5 min, nurses was coming in taken blood (my blood is rare) then the day before i got to even leave. They had this Training Nurse (THAT HAD NO IDEA WHAT SHE WAS DOING) Try to come again take more blood, or i believe fix the iv and she couldn't find an good vain. Tell me why the lady kept stabbing me, like not even trying to feel for one. I literally jumped out of the bed and was gonna run in the bathroom. To which my parents walked in, my mother seen my arms (my arms were bruised so bad, it looked like i was shooting up) so blood was shown to made my mother go off on them. The next day was an Saturday i lived hours away from there, and i had again to have medicine to recover my kidneys, blood pressure, heart rate so they had the place i get my medicine from know, they literally waited till 6pm to finally release me. By the time we got to our town the place was closed. Go thing my normal doctor who was supposed to birth my son was still in the hospital, so i had to go to my towns hospital for medicine to last me that night/morning till the store opened. I never got my son's birth certificate which why you have to pay for the first one... I just know whoever was their after i had my son was really nice by giving me their lunch because the cafeteria wasn't opened and i was starving. Also as i was in the room to birth my son after they had me push to see of i can naturally have him. I couldn't breathe and they didn't listen to me till my fiance pretty much yelled saying i needed oxygen (didn't even fully put it in my nose). I wish i remembered what all they gave me while i was there. But i cant ever have children again. Sorry for an long post or if it doesn't make sense. A lot happened that im somewhat...

Toledo Hospital is the best! I had two incredible labor and delivery nurses from the time I arrived until I went to my postpartum room.

This was my first child, so I was very nervous going into Toledo Hospital for my induction. Christa Pollauf greeted me at the door and took me to my room. She thoroughly explained everything in detail to help me understand what was going on. She insured I was informed about everything that would occur and met all of my needs. She developed a personal connection with me and was extremely knowledgeable. This gave me and my husband a sense of peace before they started the process. She performed everything in a timely manner and was pleasant. At shift change, she introduced my new nurse. I was devastated she wouldn’t be there to see my baby being born.

Nicole Conger introduced herself and then took amazing care of me throughout the rest of my delivery. She has such a great personality that had me laughing even through some tough contractions. She made me feel at ease through delivery and before moving into my postpartum room. By having exceptional communication skills, she built a sense of trust with me. She took her time explaining everything to me, making me feel comfortable, and checking on me regularly. Even though I wasn’t her only patient being induced, I would never have noticed this if I didn’t ask. We had the chance to connect and discuss our personal lives which took the ease off of actually being in labor. Not only did she provide exceptional care, she showed expertise explaining everything that was going on in a way that made sense to me. She gave me realistic expectations. Nicole truly showed the qualities of being a great nurse. Her compassion to both me and my husband was evident throughout the entire process. When moving to my postpartum room, I was feeling a bit nauseous once I got into the wheelchair. I threw up a few times and Nicole was right there with me throughout the whole time. She quickly called a nurse for extra assistance when I was feeling dizzy. Multiple nurses showed up to help right before I passed out. Even through this, I still felt at ease with Nicole as my nurse. I am so thankful she had the opportunity to be there for my delivery!

Both of these nursers were committed to excellence as they didn’t just do their job, they went above and beyond making Toledo Hospital look even more exceptional than I already knew them to be. One can easily tell both of these nurses strive to be better, to work with efficiency and time management, while still providing the very best care. They were extremely prompt at providing for my needs. One of my biggest concerns was the safety for me and my baby. Both nurses, as well as all staff, worked to keep us both safe throughout the whole experience. The extraordinary experience I received at Toledo Hospital, as a first time mom, is one I will never forget. This is due to the amazing nurses I had throughout the delivery process. Thank you to Toledo Hospital for providing me exceptional care and a great staff throughout my...

This experience is from 11/11/23. It’s taken me some time to write this out because I’m still in disbelief. I was first seen at ProMedica’s urgent care then transferred to Toledo hospital. Firstly and for most, not only did my experience in the ER last over 10 hours. It was uncomfortable. The entrance to the ER is the most ghetto thing ever. The tarps and unprofessional receptionist. They completely redid everything urgent care had already done. Clearly not reading anything in my files or chart. After my vitals were taking for the third time that evening, (came from urgent care), the person who took them removed my person from the room with no warning or asking if I was comfortable with that. When asking me questions and I couldn’t hear as the TARP covering half the room was blowing by a fan in my ear, I asked her to repeat and she became irritated by this. After going to the waiting room with no instructions on what to do, I sat for about an hour. Name finally gets called and I get to a room. Not only did multiple patients and doctors try to come into my room while I was occupying it, no one apologized. After hours of being in this room I get a very nice travel nurse who gave me medicine and recognized that I didn’t need my vitals taken for about the 6th time that night. The radiologist came to take me for a chest X-Ray. This was by far the worst part of my visit. This girl clearly didn’t read my file. She was asking if I had fallen or something fell on me. When I was there for a completely different reason. She didn’t explain instructions very well and got irritable when I was asking for clarification. For hours and hours I waited for a doctor to come check on me. Not only did no one explain to me this doctor wasn’t even in the hospital, they had no idea when she’d be arriving. I checked in around 6pm and by midnight the hospital staff had checked on me maybe two or three times still without communication from the doctor. After been seen by the nurse and given food and water, the doctor told me that should’ve never happened as it can alter result. The doctor who did see me was amazing and I’m not sure how much was communicated to her or what not but she treated me with care and gave me my dignity back. Not only did she make sure I had my person in the room but she made sure both of us were comfortable. By the end of my experience it was close to 3am. The doctor sent me with some bags to collect the clothes I needed to and said to bring them back to her. I did this and the nursing staff did not want to take them, after I explained what happened and why I was there, they had taken my clothes in. After this altercation, I received a phone call later on explaining I needed to pick up my clothes AGAIN because they weren’t going to give them to my doctor. Overall, worse hospital in Toledo. Every ProMedica facility has been a major nightmare for everyone involved. They want to charge thousands of dollars for mediocre care, services, and quality. Do better for...
