Slumberland Furniture — Local services in Tomah

I easily found a body color for the sectional I picked out but the accent fabric selection really left something to be desired. I am not a fan of most patterns and couldn’t believe there wasn’t a more neutral option! After going through all the fabric swatches several times I finally decided on one but am not thrilled about it at all! I asked if there was anything that could be done but the sales associate said she got in trouble the last time she let someone pick a plain fabric for pillows. We finally get to the checkout process and after approximately 30 minutes of trying the sales associate decided that the computer was not go to let her place my order and that she was off the next day but that she’d come in the next morning around 9 or 10 am to do it instead. She said that my $50 off coupon wouldn’t work on my special order but since there were issues she’d see what she could do. She also said she’d check with her manager about other accent fabric options. Today at 3:51 pm I received a call she was working on my order. No mention of the coupon or fabric. I didn’t expect both but I figured given the situation she would have at least tried for one and if not at minimum a recap to mention what the scoop was with them. Slumbering has its "big retirement sale" going on where furniture is post as 60% off and additional 20% off the 60%. All BS! I purchased a sofa set that Slumberland said the retail price was $2600+ and marked down to $1150. It was an Ashley Signature brand. So after I got home, I looked up the set i purchased at Slumberland on Ashley's site and found that the regular retail price at Ashley was the same "sale price" that Slumberland was selling it for. Bottom line, there is no 60-80% off items at Slumberland. They mark the furniture up over 150% and then reduce the percentage from the marked up price. To make matters worse, since it's a sale price, you cannot return the item.

I confronted the store employees about this obvious scam and asked them why lie to their customers and screw them. Another lady sitting behind the counter stated that Ashely has a sale going on concurrent with theirs and that's why the prices are the same. I corrected her and said the "retail" price at Ashely is Slumberland's "sale price" so they are not the same. Just FYI in case you want to shop and think you're getting a deal there. It was the same price as Ashely so it saved me a trip to LaCrosse....

They scheduled my delivery for Friday but I never heard from them. When I called, the lady said someone had changed it to Tuesday. No one told me! I was told they would refund half my delivery fee for the inconvenience, which they refused to do later! She told me they would get it rescheduled for Monday as I could not be home during the time they had set on Tuesday. So, Monday morning, they call to confirm my delivery for Tuesday afternoon. I told her I could absolutely not do Tuesday afternoon and was promised Monday. The lady was very rude and told me I'd have to wait until next week. I was furious and explained that I was already rescheduled without notice. She grudgingly told me she guessed she could have it delivered Tuesday morning. The delivery process was infuriating. I hate how it was handled, and I will never shop here again because of this. I do love my couch, but I can find the matching pieces...
