Oh how i love to go here
The staff are very knowledgeable and so helpful They treat you like family and remember your name especially if you go way to much such as i have whenever i can.
If they do now know an answer they help you find someone who does or help you look it up! They are always busy yet alway find time to get to you when you let them know you need help.
They have fun and awesome nic nacs and a wonderful selection of outdoor related items and decor.
Herbs oh how i love that section probly my favorite! They have a big variety i cannot find elsewhere Such as wintergreen st.Johns wort, lemon eucalyptus So many different lavenders, mints, rosemary, did i mention peach and pineapple sage yum yum!
I can only say plan ahead make sure you come packing because its impossible not to walk out without at least a wagon ful!š They see me walking around with a half full wagon and all of a sudden one of the wonderful staff is helping me load an overloaded wagon onto the big cartš while we chat about whatever plant or plants i am looking for or wondering about.
Oh final note if they do not carry what you want or need they might be able to ask one of their vendors to start or see if they have some already that may be ready soon most nurseries sell what they sell the arbor gate really wants to help and get you plants you want if they can, which may not always be possible but they try!š
Special shout out to beverly thank you for always being sweet and so helpful you are a very kind woman whom always makes me smile i enjoy our conversations. I feel like i always have a friend when i go to the arbor. The others always seem to remember me as well super helpful i have never gone and not been offered help or assistance.
They are always willing to load your vehicle they have plastic to protect your vehicle so as not to damage the inside if you need to overload it with to many plants as i seem to always do!š
So thank you arbor for always...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love this place. Itās pricey, but has the best variety of plants in the Houston area and high quality dirt.
However, I have had a couple of frustrating experiences here. Some staff are amazingly knowledgeable. Some are notābut say they are. Most recently, I asked where indoors/low light plants are and was directed to a little house. I inspected a plant that was placed completely in the dark side of the room and it looked healthy. So I bought it, for $40. One week later, I was considering buying a 2nd of the same plant. I went back and saw that the plants that had looked healthy were browning and leaves falling off. I went and talked to a staff member who told me that these plants shouldnāt have been indoors and they were being moved outdoors.
Within 2 days, my plant at home started shriveling. I think when this sort of thing happens due to staff misinformation or plants being advertised & showcased in the wrong areas, we should be refunded.
This isnāt the first time this has happened. Iāve been sold quite a few plants as āfrost hardyā or āperennialsā that arenāt, and the next year, when I ask about it, a new staff member will tell me that only certain varieties are perennial or frost hardy.
I take responsibility for some of thisā¦because I could be pushier and more persistent about having exact info. But the $41 plant situationāI should be refunded.
For me, Arbor Gate is still usually a 4-star placeā¦but I do want this experience to be noted by...

Next be prepared for visual overload! IT SO PREEEEETY! Everything is just so beautiful here, take your time and wander all the paths, smell the things, enjoy all the neat displays and dream of what you can do in your own back yard. Make a little stop to the gift and decor shop more towards the back. There are resident kitties and they are very friendly. There is a glass and wind chime Pavillion to the left of the shop (all the shops are old houses, another plus in my book) there are THE COOLEST artisan wind chimes and things to hang from your trees in there. I have a fascination with all the faces! There are little hidden gems through all the paths so just take your time and meander. If you are feeling blue for no reason get in your car and go up there. It's right off from 2920 between Cypress Rosehill and Telge Rd. Soak up some sun and stroll their gardens. The workers are friendly and approachable and aren't bent on making a sale so will let you be to meander at will. If you are a Novice gardener don't be afraid to ask questions they are all willing to chat and download information. Every thing sold there is appropriate for Houston's growing zone. There are house...
