If you're seriously thinking about buying a Dodge, you might want to rethink it. I have a 2020 Dodge ram that has the leak in the back top light and back window. They are aware of this to the point they have extended their original manufacturing warranty. What I don't understand is they know these parts leak. They know these parts are faulty and yet they have continued to put them in through 2019,2020 ,2021 and so forth. I have been working with the dealership on the repairs of these faulty parts. Zak promised the parts would be here in April of 2024. Still waiting on them. Two weeks ago Emily promised the parts in 10 business days. This was after talking with Nick about getting the parts. She also asked that since she was getting the parts for me could I fill out the survey in a positive light for the dealership. That would have been Tuesday of this week. Now all my calls are being dodged and not returned. They keep telling me that it's Chrysler's doing and that Chrysler doesn't even want to replace the faulty parts. Now they just want to glue it together knowing that it will leak yet again. I have mold growing on the backside in my truck down the walls and into the carpet. I'm gathering from this behavior that it will never be fixed. At this point I hate Dodge and if anybody asks me if I would ever buy another Dodge again I will tell them flat out no and I will tell them my experience.
Update: So they glued the window and the back light so it won't leak anymore. A few days after raining this is what my truck looks like. As you can see there's condensation on the inside. This of course heats up in the heat of the day and causes mold growth inside. I'm so mad because this shows they don't care about the customer.
Update - so they haven't been able to get parts for a year and a half due to a shortage of these parts. Now that the glue hasn't worked, they order the parts and 2 weeks later it's all here. Isn't that amazing. So they replaced the carpet in the back only and they replaced the glass where it's leaking. Now it all looks really great. Then I'm driving to work today and there is a loud noise from the back. The back of the seat has fallen forward. They're not supposed to do that. The bottom of the seat is supposed to fold up well. The problem is now I'm looking at this folded seat and I see rust on the back of the seat at the bottom. Apparently from what I can tell it's on the back of the other one that's still sitting upright. So I contact the dealership and I send them pictures and he tells me he'll have to check into it. It may not be covered. Are you freaking kidding me? This is all due to this leak that has been going on for it over a year and a half that Dodge doesn't want to fix. I understand that the dealership guy is doing the best he can, but this shows a lot of how Chrysler/ Dodge treats their customers. Dodge should be ashamed of themselves.
Update - so now I'm waiting for approval to get the rusted seats fixed and a new problem has shown up. The back of one seat keeps falling forward. The seats are supposed to fold up not the back fold down so apparently it's broken. Still waiting on whether or not Chrysler will cover these rusted and apparently...
Read moreWent to purchase a Ram that was listed at 74k, I asked multiple times for a trade in offer before doing a credit app to see if it would even be worth my time to trade my current vehicle and they WOULD NOT give me an offer no matter how many times I asked until I signed a credit app. So I went ahead and signed the app, after running the app they offer 45k for my vehicle I countered with 47k and they said ok. Once I got the deal the price of the truck on paper was 90k, when I asked why the price was 90k and not 74k the sales manager or whoever he was went on to tell me that's the price of the truck. I stated that's not the price I came in for, you guys have the truck priced at 74k online, I proceeded to show him his own dealership website. He proceed to get a new deal and came back with the truck being priced AS LISTED but took about 13k off my trade and told me that's what they can offer if I want the price that's listed online. When I asked why is that? He proceeds to lie to me and tell me my vehicle is not worth the money and this is what they'll offer if I want the price that's clearly listed on multiple trucks online, but before hand, BEFORE anything was said about pricing they offered 45k from the start for my vehicle. So basically you tell me my truck is worth 45k to start with then proceed to try and get one over on me with a totally different price then what's listed online, and when I say what happened to the 74k they proceeded to take almost 13k off my trade and say "your trade in just not worth the original 45k they offered". The sales manager was literally arguing with me and saying I shouldn't come in looking to buy a 90k truck if I can't afford it, so I stated that I didn't come for a 90k truck i came for a 74k truck. He just kept arguing that that's not the price and when I said "sir I don't work here you do, I shouldn't have to tell you the price of your trucks" he said we don't know online pricing and basically blamed me for not saying that's the price I came in on from the start, even though i told the salesman the truck online is 70k and that was the price im comfortabl at. They wasted HOURS of my day when I asked them to just get me an appraisal on my vehicle. I even stated to the salesperson that I don't like wasting people's time so please let me just get a trade offer to see if I would have any equity to use for the new vehicle, they just wouldn't do it. Literally FORCED me to come in and waste time just to have some guy come out of nowhere and lie to me and argue with me and tell me I shouldn't look at a truck I can't afford, but before hand I literally told the salesperson I can't afford a Limited Ram and the Laramie was on sale for 74k so that's what I was lookin for. Sales manager proceeds to tell me " he don't know what the salesperson and I talked about". Long story short I would stay away from this dealership, very dishonest pricing and when you call them out on it they take the money off your trade to make up for the dealer...
Read moreI have a lot to share about my experience with Tomball Dodge, but I am a writer so it may get long. I want to be fair, but totally forthright, too, so here goes.
The check engine light came on in my car in April and also a message on my screen said that the phone in my car was not working (although it's never quit working) and that I needed to see a dealership to get it fixed. In addition, one of my key FOBs quit working, so I had a three reasons I thought I should go to a dealer instead of a local mechanic.
Check engine Message on in-car screen (see above) Non-working key FOB
Those are the three reasons I brought the vehicle in (sometime in May, I believe). I called to get an appointment, and they said I should just bring it in (appointment not needed). So the next morning I brought it in around 8 a.m. I didn't hear from them all day, so at 4:30 p.m. I called for an update. They said they HADN'T GOTTEN TO IT YET! While that's not that big a deal, it does make you wonder why they don't take appointments. I needed my car, so I told them I'd bring it back the next day.
The next day I dropped it off about 7:45 a.m., and midday I get an email outlining the costs. Keep in mind I paid $16,000 for this car two years ago. They tell me it's going to cost more then $5,000! Naturally, I decline. So I go to pick it up and I have to pay the $225 diagnostic fee. And then they charge me another $10 for the key FOB.
I tow the car to Minnesota behind my RV in early June, and my brother-in-law gets the check engine light taken care of with ONE NEW SENSOR, which cost me less than $100. It was an oil pressure sensor. They wanted to charge me $584.50 to fix that.
They wanted to charge me $70 for a new Engine Air Filter. We took the air filter out and looked at it. My brother-in-law said he's maybe never seen a cleaner air filter than the one that is currently in my car. Yet they were going to change it for $70.
And here's maybe the craziest one: "Tune Up = $400". Tune up? No other details. Just the words "Tune up". I did check the spark plugs. They needed replacing. But $400 for what? If you're going to charge someone $400, how about a bit of detail, something more than just "tune up". Ridiculous.
Coolant flush? $285. I checked it. It doesn't need to be flushed. And then their magnum opus: "Motor mounts = $2,390"!
Oh, and here's the kicker. THE KEY FOB BATTERY THEY SOLD ME FOR $10 NEVER WORKED! NOT EVEN ONCE!
The human being I worked with -- Kerry -- was the lone bright spot. I hold him 0 percent accountable for my terrible experience. He just had to be the bearer of some ridiculous news. Makes me feel bad for him if that's what he has to do all day is tell customers "hey, we're going to try to rip you off, and we're not even going to give you a working battery for your key FOB!"
Needless to say, I won't be going back to...
