If i could give this business a 'negative zero' starred rating i would! My boyfriend took a leather purse & a HD boot of mine to this lady to have the zippers replaced on each item & almost a month to the day went by & I'd still never rec'd a call letting me know if they were done & ready to be picked up, or if there was any problem(s) w/ repairing either of my things. Finally, i just drove out there & went in & asked about them myself. I go in, & am standing there for a few minutes before anyone ever even came out. So, this lady came out from the back (finally), & says hello. I told her that my boyfriend had dropped off a HD boot & a purse of mine 2 get the zippers replaced in, & she goes 2 the back & brings them out. Then, she proceeds to go into this story about how her machine that she uses to do this kind of work, was broken, & its the only 1 in town that does this, & she wasn't able to repair my boot. As shes holding it, i notice she's already ripped out my old zipper & has a brass, or dark gold looking zipper pinned 2 the side of my boot. I looked @ it & was like, lady, do u not know that u dont put a "totally different colored" zipper on someone's repair, than the SAME as you ripped out of it.!? I mean, come on....im supposed 2 wear my Harley Davidson boots w/ 1 gold zipper & 1 silver zipper!?! Really!? Good lord! Then i took my purse from her & said, "ok, were u at least able 2 replace my zipper on my bag then?" And, she looks at it & looks down @ my purse & says, "well, i think i did; which zipper was it again, that was broken?" And at this point, I'm starting 2 get really upset. I showed her which zipper was broken & as i unzipped it, it fell off!! By now i just looked up @ her & said, "well u'd think u could of given a person a call (since my name & phone # was on the little green tags hanging off of each of my things!) & let me know wks ago that u weren't going 2 be able 2 even fix my stuff @ all huh?" She just stood there & didn't really ever say anything in her defense, other than to go on w/ her story about that machine of hers that was broken & how she wasn't sure which screw she needed 2 tighten up, or loosen....to get it to work, etc....blah blah blah! It was all i could do to even stand there & not lose it! But i simply grabbed my boot outta her hands & took my things & said, "thanks a lot. For nothing!" She never said anything else to me as i walked out of her store. I can't even recall her ever even apologizing 4 the error on her part in NEVER even calling to inform me that she couldn't fix my items to begin w/. She kinda seemed rather aloof...like la-ti-daaa....no big deal kind of attitude too. U COULDN'T PAY ME ENOUGH TO RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS IN A POSITIVE MANNER! That was ridiculous! And i have an event coming up that i wanted to use/wear these things for. I can fully understand if a person isnt able to do a job for someone else, due to reasons beyond their control. It happens, but, damn, at the very least, give the person a call & let them know, so that they can take their repair(s) elsewhere. And the lady does alterations on "wedding dresses" & other 'important' types of gowns for brides, etc....i wouldn't trust her doing ANYTHING i needed that was on a "time restraint" thats for sure!! And this was a 'referral' from someone we normally go to that has done a great job for us, so be wary & check out referrals u may get, as they obviously don't always do quality work like one would think they will. Worst experience I've ever had. Now, i dont even know who 2 take my things to, to have the zippers fixed, and wanted them repaired so I'd have them for a ride were going on, on New Year's Day. So much for "referrals" i...
Read moreI wanted to leave her a nice review so bad. I really did but i would be lying to myself .
Unfortunately she is a little unorganized and finishes peopleâs clothing right before the come in or tells them to reschedule for pick up after the agreed upon date. This is heartbreaking, I told her how important this was to me, I feel like she could possibly be stealing my designs which is why she wonât send my stuff off.
With me I asked her would she be able to finish my clothing in 28 days before I ETS out the Army and move back to Texas. She said yes, but the day I got there my stuff wasnât even halfway done. So I stayed in Topeka at her shop until 4 am and I had nowhere to sleep so she invited me to sleep at her house. That was nice but it shouldnât have even gotten to that point.
So we woke up that morning and went back to the shop to finish the two garments but I noticed she wasnât touching anything of mine. She was helping other people walking in and trying to finish other customers. At this point I was in Topeka at her shop for 24 hours, I grew frustrated and told her I was leaving that Saturday morning. She promised me she would send it to me Monday, Monday arrives and she told me she would send it Tuesday. Tuesday arrived and I didnât receive a tracking number as promised.
Iâm not sure if she gave me poor service because I am young and seen as less important. Idk what it was but I feel like my customer service was poor because I was nice. She is great to go to for prom or weddings or whatever if you have a month or two to wait but sheâs very inconsiderate to customer schedules and I probably will never use her again. Not because she is bad, sheâs actually great but I felt walked over and as a customer who constantly experiences bad customer service from black businesses, Iâm disappointed. It would have been fine if she asked me to hold off 1 day but its going on the 5th day and she isnât answering the phone to give me my tracking number.
Update: it has been almost a week from the agreed upon date and she is still doing âfinishing touchesâ . I am beyond frustrated, now I am upset! She stopped replying to my text yesterday and I called and text her today and received no response. At this point I just want my d*mn money back. I feel super disrespected and mistreated and I have been very patient with her. Would she treat a middle aged white woman like this? Iâm sure she knows her business would be in jeopardy if it was anyone else. No tracking number, she hasnt sent my stuff off and hasnât had the decency to apologize and and bump me up her priority list. Supposedly her 15 prom dresses are more important! I will be disputing this issue with my bank and suing her for having to cancel my photoshoot I was gonna get paid to style.
She has basically stolen my stuff and wonât give it back. Its been almost 3 weeks now, she is stealing the fur I bought and the fabric and holding...
Read moreI had a very good experience when I took my wedding dress here. My wedding dress had lace long sleeves that needed the underarm area expanded so that my arms could fit. The whole process took 1 month. During this time she also moved to her new and bigger location. She was still able to accommodate me with all of the moving chaos going around and was always super sweet. The price was inexpensive for the good level of quality of the sewing and added lace that matched my own dress. When I tried on the dress in the store the sleeves fit perfectly and there was plenty of room. The only reason that I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that on my wedding day there was a small rip in the seam where she added the fabric. It's an easy fix and you can't see it in any of the pictures because it is near the underarm but still.
That being said I would definitely recommend her and go to her again. I doubt that you will find anyone else in the state of Kansas that is as sweet, professional, and not super expensive for the good quality of work. Why pay extra at David's Bridal or some other chain wedding store when you can support a...
