Tilton's is a somewhat bare-bones small grocery store that fills an important role for a community that, without it, would be a grocery store desert. While some (many?) of the regular items are more expensive than Walmart, the produce is typically a real deal!! Often at the end of its shelf-life, you'll want to freeze or cook it right away. Update: Always a great place to shop. Tilton's has been a presence in Topeka since 1925. The historic store has survived it all. You will take a mini trip back in time when grocery stores were smaller with just enough of the right stuff. The produce is inexpensive , that is what I go for. They sell primarily Best Choice products. They seem to get great deals and pass them on instead of trying to lure you in with a weekly "sale".
