Worst experience ever, from the moment we walked in we felt awkward, they weren’t packed at all, and the workers were just sitting around. No one welcomed us or said a word to us, just looked at us, then one lady got up and walked over to us, and grabbed menus, and we followed her to a table, she didn’t say one thing to us still. Than we sat and ordered our drinks, she wasn’t smiling, or welcoming at all. When we go to order I asked if their chicken was shredded with veggies, or if it was grilled, she picked up one of the menus and started to look through it with a straight face, we felt so awkward because she still hadn’t said anything to us, I asked again and she laughed and finally spoke and said “well what do you want? Grilled or shredded” I said politely “I would like a soft grilled chicken taco with meat and cheese only pleased” she literally laughed again as she wrote it down. I was so confused and kind blown, she took the rest of the orders, and than walked away. She came and brought us our food, and asked if we needed anything else, an order was messed up and we told her we wanted beef not chicken on an order and she picked the plate up and walked away with it before my friend could even finish telling her. We were mind blown with how terrible we were being treated. She would be slowly walked away why we would speak with her about getting some more chips before we even finished asking. She wasn’t standing there with a smile, or happy at all. At the end of our meal she apologized for the mess up on the food, and gave us our tickets. There were about 3 other families in there, and it was around 2pm. None of these workers were happy to be at their job, and didn’t try to fake it that they were. Worst experience ever on...
Read moreVisited this restaurant on 2/19/19 between 1:00- 2:00 pm. The place is at 511, SW topeka blvd. Getting to the place is off topeka blvd. Plenty of parking around the place. When getting inside the place, saw numerous cars as well as many patrons getting out. Plenty of customer eating area taking into account two separate places with cash register and restrooms in between. There are lots of 4 seater booths. About 10 customers when i was there. The rest room barely passes by. The tables and the floor appear fine.
Was seated by what i do now type of server in a minute. Took order after 5 minutes after bringing sauce and chip basket. I also asked for very hot sauce that was brought immediately. . Rediculously large menu. I ordered $5 chicken enchilada and $1 dollar margarita for a tuesday. Server is ok, but not service oriented person.
Coming to food which was brought in 5 minutes, chicken enchilada surrounded by brick colored sauce is below average. Chips tasted like they were waiting for me since two hours. Rice and refried beans were average. The drink in the small glass was fine. The hottest sauce i asked is indeed hottest which may not be tolerated by most of average customers. Indeed, it was for people like me. The entire bill was $6.53 including tax, which is not bad with good tasting drink. Taking food taste, drink taste, amount of food with chips and sauce and the price i would give this place easily 3 1/2*. This might be a good place for a group of 4 in a cozy booth, forgetting the outside world and getting lost for an hour and a half before getting back to work, if that is allowed like my work place did for me...
Read moreThis is located on the north side of the downtown area and is very popular for many reasons. The service is great even during the very busy lunch hours. Get there early especially when the legislators are in town. They can get you in and out quickly but you don't feel rushed. Tip: You can skip the credit card line if you pay in cash when heading out the door. I have the right change to cover the meal and tips so I can slide past the long line. They have one guy standing by just for the cash.
Dinners are always too big for me. Take it easy on the chips beforehand or you won't have enough room for the main entree. You will get a lot for your money. Their margaritas are great and not the Koolaid kind you get in some places.
If you get to sit up front, it's fun to watch Topeka Blvd. and the sidewalk traffic. They have a good sized outdoor seating area on the north side (back} during nice weather. The booths are mainly up front with some in the rear dining area. The tables are in the rear dining area.
Parking during the busy lunch time will probably be at the rear of the restaurant. Its a short walk to get in from there. Its easy to miss this parking area.
If you liked Casa on south Topeka Blvd., this is a...
