Update at the end: Great store and employees. Only one in town. Just make sure to always check your receipt when purchasing any of the weekly ad items. Being local I constantly have to return for refunds of ad items that were "missed" being entered into the point of sale system and scan at full price. Unfortunately, I've set the receipt aside to take the next time and forgotten about it. My loss their gain. After your reply sir, I did forget to mention that the Zups stores are greatly supporting of their communities. They donate awesomely to food shelf, school functions and fund raisers, 4th of July parades and activities, allow the kids to set up tables to sell tickets to support their activities for trips with extracurricular activities for school or dance and so much more that I cannot recall all of it. In all communities the Zups stores are a major supporting contributor! I lived in Ely 25 years and supported shopping at both grocery stores as a resident as well as they were supporting of my children's functions and activities. I love these smaller towns due to the comraderie and support that exists here. I stay in the area for that rather than endure the big cities I've lived in where it's dog eat dog attitude. So much nicer and enjoyable than the frantic BS and watching over your shoulder a big city brings. After moving 'up north' 32 years ago it was a big change of life as I knew it and I had no trouble adjusting and loving it. I apologize if I was too harsh but I still stand on my issue. Did not have these issues in Ely. I also for a number if years was a frozen foods manager in a grocery store and doubled as a carry out to boot. The store employees, customers and my friends lovingly referred to me as "the bag lady". 😃 I do understand what goes on with ads and entering in the POS system. I've worked with computers since my early 20's, only back then it was microfiche. I did not have the issues with the grocery stores in Ely that I complained about here. The overcharge item on last week's ad, if the shelf was fully stocked beginning of the week, was over half gone. The sale sign was up and I shopped on Saturday, the last day of the ad as new one starts on Sunday. I will be coming for a refund again and yes, I am well aware of the fact that no receipt of proof means no refund and have never asked for refund without receipt and lately the ad in hand as well. Due to my financial position I cannot allow or afford the mistakes. I humbly suggest a double check system in the future as you are quite correct that we are all only human and not above mistakes. We do get old and tired. I am only advising that they are too often for my shopping experience trying to support my local business instead of spending gas I don't have going out of town where it's definitely cheaper for same products. I stand by what I said that it's a problem for me in your store to keep coming back for refunds. I do not shop every week as I'm a single old woman, do not need a lot of food, concentrate on protein (meats) and veggies. I look longingly at the beef in your meat section (I love a good steak) but the prices due to the economics do not allow me to purchase any unless hamburger is on sale. I depend on your ad and the prices there in and for them to ring up correctly. Thank you so much for your reply and hopefully attention to the issue. I am one of those in life that is a walking Murphy's Law. If it's gonna happen to anyone just pick me. I will also stand up though and only mean to suggest that closer attention need be paid. I'll be in Tues with receipt and ad in hand for yet another refund. Thank you again for your time. I do enjoy being a Google Guide as I have been in many states in my lifetime, done business in several states especially in recent years. My intentions are for a good outcome. I've so far only given a horrible review and warned of one automotive business that intentionally took advantage of me being a woman traveling alone with car trouble. I received a full refund for work they admitted...
Read moreI seriously love the smell of this place. They smoke their meats there, and it is like I have died and gone to bacon heaven. If I lived in the area I would probably volunteer to work there, they wouldn't even have to pay me. But seriously, nice store, the staff is always friendly, fair...
