I don’t know who’s steering the ship here, but this store has gone from my go-to to “never again.” Whatever this renovation is? It feels like you’re trying to make grocery shopping as miserable as possible.
Bathrooms? Men’s room has been CLOSED for months. Every. Single. Visit. The women’s room? Open. So, what do guys get? Port-a-potties in the parking lot that look like they were borrowed from a county fair and never cleaned. You couldn’t pay me to sit in there. At this point, a tree out back would be a step up.
Inside? Aisles are pure chaos. Nothing is where the signs say it is. You need a GPS, Google Maps, and maybe a prayer circle just to find the bread. Whoever organized this must think customers enjoy playing “extreme grocery hide and seek.”
Produce? Looks like it gave up on life. Lettuce that’s halfway to compost, fruit that’s seen better decades. Meat? Forget it. I was literally in the store when one of the fridge cases caught FIRE (yes, flames). Since then? Cases are often broken, meaning you can’t even buy basics. Imagine being a grocery store where customers can’t buy meat. Bravo.
And the smell? Like raw sewage decided to move in and pay rent. Nothing says “appetizing shopping experience” like gagging in the cereal aisle.
This place is dirty, depressing, and feels abandoned by anyone who cares. I used to be proud to shop here, now I wouldn’t stop for free samples.
I’ve switched to Market 32. It’s clean. It’s organized. It doesn’t smell like a backed up sewer. My family and friends have switched too.
Hannaford, you’ve become the bad joke of grocery shopping. It’s going to take an actual miracle, not a renovation, not a coupon, a MIRACLE, to...
Read moreWe started using Hannaford to Go at this location because it was more convenient for us than the East Greenbush location. In just under a year:
Received the wrong order. Received an apology and a gift card. We were told they couldn't legally take the food back, so donate it These things happen, no big deal;
Received well-expired (six months) frozen food. Called, we were told we would receive a credit and never did;
9/10 key grocery items were "out of stock" with no substitutions. Supply chain issues, maybe, but when other stores in the area have these items on the shelves...
Today was the final straw. We received the wrong order two days before Thanksgiving. We unpacked everything at our home because there were refrigerated items and we didn't want them to spoil. As my husband was about to call, we received a phone call. They wanted my husband to drive back to the store to swap orders with the person who had received ours. We had already decided we were done using the services at this store so simply asked for a refund, knowing that they couldn't take the food back. In the background a manager started yelling at the girl on the phone there would be no refund unless we brought back the food. So we packed it up and it's now in the process of being driven back, where they will do who knows what with it because, from our previous incident, we were told they cannot resell it.
Use caution when shopping here if you decide to do so. For us, the convenient location doesn't make up for the...
Read moreI live within walking distance of the Glenmont Price Chopper. It would be convenient if not for the stressful and disappointing shopping experience I consistently experience there. I find myself mentally preparing to coddle the deli staff to please cut cold cuts thin or to ask the meat department staff if they have something that I am looking for that doesn’t have a use by date that is the same as the day I am buying it. They make it clear that they are put out by anything that isn’t grab and go. The only exception is the produce staff. They have always been great but the quality of the produce is usually pretty poor. The Delmar Hannaford experience is a luxury. Fresh meat and vegetables, personable, helpful staff and the deli counter is amazing!!! No 10-20 minute waits as the only customer at the PC counter while the employee moves at a pace that could only be intended to discourage you from asking for an additional thing. Every single time Hannaford’s staff is friendly, accommodating and professional. Hannaford does it right and their employees are...
