I always liked this store until they tried to scam me out of my $5,000 rare Breitling. Yup very true. I've had a Breitling Crosswind watch for a long time. One day it just stopped working. I'm supposed to tune it up every 2-3 years and in 10 years I never tuned it up. The tune up is usually $300-$500 on average. So I walk into this store and drop off the watch for a tune up. The lady who worked there called me 2 days later and told me the repairs would cost $1,700. Right away I knew thay was shady. I told her there was no way I would pay that amount and I would be coming to pick up my watch. She insisted that the watch had big problems and needed a lot of repairs but the store would be willing to buy it from me for $700. My watch is a discontinued model and still sells on ebay for at least $3,800. I told the woman no way and to have my watch ready. She informed me that my watch was sent out to their watch repair guy and I would not get it back for at least 2 weeks. Unreal. I had no choice but to wait so I waited. The store called me back the next day and then offered to do the repairs for $750. The original quote was $1,700. So shady. Thay were hoping I couldn't afford the repair and they hoped I would sell the watch to them dirt cheap out of desperation. Not going to happen. I have more than enough to buy a new watch but this watch has sentimental value to me and I would NEVER part with it. After almost 2 weeks I finally got my watch back. I took my watch to The Time Shop in East Islip on Main St. and they made my watch as good as new for $350. If I didn't know better these dirtbags would have robbed my for my $5,000 Breitling. Shame on Diamond Jewelers. I will NEVER step foot into that store again and I recommend everyone in the market for jewelry knows enough to stay far away from these thieves.
So the owner responds with this: Michael Cecere
Response from the owner a year ago Clearly anyone can make whatever accusations they want online. It's sad to read an unhappy customers review when what they believe to be true is simply not the whole truth. As always there are two sides to every interaction and somewhere in the middle usually lies the real truth. When weighing this review against the thousands of customers we've helped every year for 38 years and then looking at the hundreds of bad reviews our competitors have - thousands in some cases you should be able to see we are far more credible than this reviewer suggests. For three generations of clients we have always stood behind what we sell and service and will continue to do so. We do regret having an unhappy customer under any circumstances.
My response to the owner: My review is the absolute truth. Why in God's name would I make that up? Beware of this shady place. Just because they have been in business for years means nothing. Madoff was in business for years too. This place is horrible and they r thieves who will try to take advantage of people who they think aren't aware. Well I'm aware. I know what my watch is worth and the employee there absolutely tried to scam me out of my Breitling. For the owner to respond that I could be making my review up just shows how unprofessional they are. I actually liked this place before this happened and I bought jewelry their prior to this happening. SCAM SCAM SCAM ALERT!!!! BUYER BEWARE. In business 38 years and 3 generations of scamming people who they thing don't know any better. Karma is real and it's coming back around to diamond jewelers. ...
Read moreBob does absolutely amazing work. I went in with an idea and he created my vision better than I even thought of myself. Together, we created a custom ring for my now fiancé that is so beautiful and so unique. Each time I met with him, he dedicated all his attention to me. I had went to other jewelers previously with my girlfriend and got a crazy range in ring sizes for what they thought she was. Bob noticed she did not fall in the usual half sizes and instead created a custom piece to make a 3/4 size. We will most definitely be shopping at Diamond Jewelers from here on out. Thank you, Bob and Joyce, for answering all my crazy questions and leaving me able to simply enjoy the moment without stress or worry... I’ll see you when it’s time for the...
Read moreOn Friday the 10th of August I went into Diamond Jewelers with a piece of jewelry that was very important to me. It had broken and very nearly lost. You don't find that everywhere any more. I would recommend this shop to anyone and everyone. With so many Mega stores it is wonderful to find a place that really does care....Thank you you really did make my...
