I’ve been a loyal client to Serenity Hair Salon for a few years . I had an appointment scheduled with Ariana on April 5th for a Balayage . Upon arrival I showed a picture of what I wanted (1st picture ) She said that we could achieve that , if it wasn’t possible that I would have needed 2 sessions I should have Been informed . She said they used a lower bleach I knew from there my hair was not gonna lift . After the bleaching was done and washed out Ariana pointed out that my hair lifted warmer than expected. From that point I was extremely anxious . My hair turned out very orange , brassy , and both sides of my hair were completely different tones of orange (2nd Picture )I had asked Ariana when I could have it done again and she told me I couldn’t have it done anytime soon . That a shimmer would be my only option ) Mind you I was getting my hair done for an event I was going too . When I got to the front desk I was charged $475 I was in complete shock . They raised their prices and I was never informed . They say I was emailed but when I spoke to the front desk they didn’t even have a email on file . They don’t list their prices on the website nor in the salon which is a NYS requirement. After my service I texted them and found out I was overcharged $30 when I know for sure I was overcharged more . A week later I had decided to go to another salon and turned out I needed a color correction , $300 later they were able to achieve the results I wanted in the first place. My Hair is still completely healthy now and looks amazing . The next pictures are what my hair looked like one week later , very upsetting for $475 . When I made the salon aware of what happened they refused my refund .My current salon was In shock that I paid for that coloring . They just recently had 4 of there own hair colorist leave including the owners daughter , (that says a lot ) so they are trying to make up for that with their crazy prices . I was told that it some girls lost good clients due to the owner hiking the price even though they were given a price by their hair stylist .These girls that left have some terrible stories of what happen. Don’t go here unless you wanna be charged a crazy amount and leave unhappy . It’s...
Read moreWent to get some color to go more blonde, same as Everytime, only difference we added was a root smudge which I was told was just a little smudging at the top to blend the root to the blonde so it would grow out nicely since I don’t do my hair too often and my hair came out COMPLETELY different than what I asked for.. The entire time everyone was rushing around to the point where I felt I was going to be forgotten about, as I was sitting with toner in my hair for way longer than normal, i was able to finally get someone’s attention and I asked, can we check the timer? when the girl checked the timer it wasn’t even on, she was messing with it and putting it up to her ear, she finally rushed over and quickly washed the toner out leaving some in still and shampoo as well, my hair was full of suds and toner still as she smiled and said all set! The girls seemed way over booked and rushed.. My hair was completely different then what I asked for upon leaving.. I just sat in my car and cried.. after paying soo much money I hesitantly decided on going back to have it corrected to what I asked for the first time, no problem they said, well after waiting two more weeks they got me in to correct it and in the end I was charged AGAIN! All I wanted was to correct it to what I asked for originally.. Almost $700 dollars later I was very upset and respectfully explained the situation to the owner and the ending result was, being called a LIAR saying, that’s what I asked for and then changed my mind which is just NOT TRUE! Then being told well, then it really should have been a double process, well then that’s what should have been done the first time if that’s what it takes for me to achieve the results I was looking for, that’s a big lack of communication and a waste of everyone’s time and energy and money.. I’ve been a blond for years, going a little lighter every year so I don’t damage my hair, I left a brunette and destroyed my hair for nothing, the hair was finally corrected but my money was never refunded, DO NOT go here, the owner is EXTREMELY rude and unfair! Overpriced and does not respect her customers business.. if I could give it less stars I would.. Proceed with caution when...
Read moreFollow up to my previous review; the owner of the salon called me, apologized for the "new" girl who answered the phone and said they would fix my hair at no charge since it was less than a week since they colored my hair. So I returned to the salon and they did fix my hair and blew it out at no charge. I'm happy we were able to work things out.
I started going to this salon less than a year ago, I totally loved it. The people were nice and I received great service. But recently I found myself in an unusual situation. I have brown hair and had it highlighted in May, I returned in July to have my roots done and the girl who colored my hair suggested I use a "richer" color to make my highlights pop more. I trusted her to do the right thing. Afterwards, I didn't get my hair blown dry, so I left with wet hair and didn't look in the mirror. When I got home and looked in the mirror, I was horrified. My roots were bright red! I hoped that when I washed it, the color would tone down, but it didn't. My hair look absolutely ridiculous. Brown hair, blonde highlights and bright red roots. So I called the salon back a couple days later and asked if they could fix it, and was told they would either have to re-dye my roots brown or have a glaze added to match my roots. To be honest, I didn't like either option, but I was embarrassed to walk around with rainbow hair. So I asked if they would fix this issue at no charge. And much to my surprise, I was told NO. I would have to pay full price to fix my hair. I was so upset, that I just said forget it. If they would have done the right thing and fixed my hair for free and I would have continued to be a customer, but now they just lost a client. Very...
