They're just out there to make a quick buck, that's all they're there for! I had scheduled an appointment five days in advance to install two tires. Even paid the installation fee ahead of time.
But, when I show up to my appointment, they say it's "against Walmart policy" to install my tires. They cited the "tread difference" would be too great.
I have an AWD SUV so that excuse WOULD make sense, if it WAS ACTUALLY "too different", as they had said. News flash: It wasn't. They refused to put my tires on unless I bought four new ones.
I passed. Instead, I went to the local Chevrolet dealer (I have a 2018 Chevrolet Traverse), and I told them what happened.
They had their professional technicians ACTUALLY inspect the tires, and they said just replacing the two front ones would be fine.
Because, as I had stated to the techs and the tech manager here, the back tires were still new themselves.
Apparently Walmart techs consider themselves above even the techs that made the cars themselves. What a high horse they ride! Considering they've never even made a car themselves!
I had heard bad reviews about Walmart Auto Center techs, and it turns out, the bad reviews check out! They don't honor people's orders, and don't issue refunds up front, either.
I had to contact Walmart Corporate to get a refund on the installation fees. So, long story short, if you want to install a whole new set of four tires, then sure, you can come here.
But if you just want to install two, avoid these guys at ALL costs! I am VERY disappointed with the techs, and the fact they couldn't even issue me a refund on their own!
AND the fact they couldn't be bothered to call me ahead of time to alert me about these "Walmart policies" that are in place, that, supposedly, "prevents them" from installing just two tires, seemingly.
But apparently installing four is fine, regardless of tread wear. Seems legit.
Anyways, needless to say, I won't be going here EVER again, and for ALL my future tire needs, I'll just go to the dealership directly. Thanks for nothing, Walmart "Auto Center"! I appreciate it!
I rate them 0/5 stars for customer service, fulfilling orders, and so called "tech management" that seemingly are literally useless against so called "Walmart policies" in every way, shape, and form.
Like...what's the point of even having them around if they can't even do anything in the first place? Not even refund orders?
That's crazy. Thanks, Walmart! I appreciate the stellar "Customer Service Experience"!
So much for "caring about our customers" and "the customer always being #1 priority"! What a sham! 0/5 stars experience through and...
Read moreI've used Wal-Mart for oil changes a number of times over the years, but I won't be coming back. The entire operation has become disorganized and made me unconfident about the work that was being done. If you want a visualization of that organization, check out my picture of the random assortment of a battery, clothes hanger, random paper, and cucumbers for some reason?
Say what you want about Wal-Mart auto centers, this one used to be a well-run by the previous manager and team. Clean, organized, efficient, and effective, thanks to that management. This auto center needs better management and better training to succeed.
When I walked up to the counter with a scheduled appointment, a woman was having issues with tires she ordered but had been misplaced. It was clearly very frustrating, but it also took three employees looking around and then standing over a tablet to solve the issue. I eventually dropped my car off, but got multiple text messages about my car being checked in, then completed, then checked in again. When I came to pick it up, it was still on the lift, but they had also mixed up my order with another and I got a tire rotation on top of the oil change. And none of that is surprising when you look behind the counter and see paperwork strewn everywhere.
I don't think this is a staffing issue. This is a management and...
Read moreFirst off this dose not reflect on the employees who are allways excellent but walmarts tire policy, went in a month ago for tires for my jeep and they didint have any of that size no big deal ordered some nice ones off of walmarts website as recommended by the tire associat 2 week wait. Day before appointment was told had to reschedule as all the tires won't be in until the actual day of appointment (which I had a 2pm appointment and I got an notification at 10am same day that all 4 tires were ready to be picked up at store). Show up a week later for new appointment and was told they can't put lt tires on my 2012 jeep liberty because they said lt on them which are light truck tires and would have worked no problem on a jeep. Even so these are the tires wallmart recomends when you search for a 2012 jeep liberty on there website. I was told I could take the car home and bring them the rims and then they could put them on it (what a joke). 40 minutes to issue me a refund. Called customer holiness but they couldn't care less. Went to mavis in catskill got me in and all...
