Goodies — Restaurant in Town of Catskill

I’m super pumped to have this new place in town! Great to have another lunch option besides subway and McDonald’s for a quick sandwich. The bagels are soft fresh and fluffy. I haven’t felt the need to have any of them toasted as they taste and feel so fresh!

The Mensch was delicious. Classic whitefish salad on a bagel. Cant go wrong and good price! The Mooch was super messy but also incredibly tasty. Hard not to make cream cheese and whitefish not squeeze out, but maybe less Mayo or bigger chunks of whitefish would help? Loved the fresh tomato and capers! The brokeback was well priced for a classic Sausage egg and cheese. It might be nice to have an option for fried rather than scrambled egg. The sausage patty was tasty and moist and appeared homemade. I would prefer some more seasoning in it personally (fennel seed, sage, thyme etc). Another suggestion would be the classic SPK (salt pepper ketchup) option. Or at least throwing a packet of ketchup in the bag. The coffee is excellent so far and they have been making the cold brew better every day! I am surprised at how well they can churn out tasty food in such a small space so efficiently in only their first week. I am excited for their future as a quick local breakfast...

Let me start by saying I am so happy I found Goodies.

The oiy vey is awesome. The bagels are great. (And this is coming from a NYC Jew who grew up on H&H bagels). The whitefish salad is legit.

My comment is not about the food, or the service. The staff is always very nice. It’s about the policy.

I ordered 2 oiy vey’s at 2:45. We made it to the shop at 2:50. Sat inside to eat our bagels. We were done at 2:57. The store closes at 3:00. The staff had the remaining bagels bagged and sitting on the counter to be “next day bagels” to be sold the following day for half price. There were about a dozen bags of bagels. I asked if they were selling them and she said they are today’s bagels meaning full price.

Soooo in 3 minutes the store would close and they would be next day bagels. Since I had just spent $30 on 2 bagel sandwiches why not let me buy them at the next day price 3 minutes before you close.

Here’s a suggestion for the owners. Why not offer a deal — for the last 15 minutes the store is open any customer who spends $15 or more can have the same day bagels at the 1/2...

Stopped in there today actually met my wife there her and another lady wanted to buy a bulk of bagels both was told no cuz they wouldn't have enough for today this never happened with the old owners so I'm not sure what's going on there the lady behind the counter very disgusting wiping the counter with her hand to remove the sugar very unsanitary another woman was outside waiting because they opened the door late she told me well I'll just go to bagel Time across the river not sure how you can fix these issues but they need to be corrected quickly the young lady that was there was very rude and disrespectful to all the customers she never apologized for opening the door late nor did she apologize for not having enough product I hope this can be resolved quickly inefficiently where I come from just so you know is Greene county we will always talk two things customer is always right and aim to satisfy the customer didn't happen...
