Hoebowl Bowling Center — Local services in Town of Catskill

A step back in time. A comfortable place for a few bowling games. Lanes and machines are older with newer AMF electronic scoreboards. Our lane was problematic with a faulty machine. A family at the next lane had frequent issues with their ball return. The staff was very attentive and fixed issues quickly. We needed to switch lanes due to a broken pin setter that only set 9 pins. The facility shows its age, but it is a nice place to bowl. A few glitches are a part of the traditional bowling experience. Family fun at the town bowling alley is an amercan instituion that is still thriving here. The lanes were full of laughter, high fives, and kids doing their victory dances on the lanes. Sure beats the video game version....

Online, it says they close at 9 on saturdays... but when we got there at 7:30 the old man at the counter told us they close in an hour and didnt want to give us a lane. Then, as we were about to walk out, the manager or owner came up to us and told us he had a lane for us. After that things went pretty smoothly. After dinner, made the 45 minute drive to Catskill with some friends and arrived at the alley at 7:50 pm, only to be told they were closing at 8:30 and we couldn't bowl.
