This was unfortunately not good. I clearly have a throat infection for 3-5 days prior to my visit. Tried home remedies and sweating it out before I went to Drakos. Strep swab done but after went south. Doc came in I asked how she was doing. Said it’s been a long day. Made a few jokes let her know I had a throat infection that won’t go away. Tried on my own but my body needs antibiotics to help fight it. I have a history with throat infections been hospitalized before. She barely checked me and went straight to writing me a prescription for over the counter mucinex (woah pause) because it’s free and most insurance pays for it. Let’s take a step back so I handed her my insurance card she said oh you have good insurance they won’t pay. I figured I’m not broke. It’s clear I have pharyngitis or something along those lines. The side of my throat is swollen and enlarged causing my tongue and tonsils to swell up as well. I can barely eat and swallow my own spit. She then says cloraceptic red or whatever. I never ever go to the doctor unless absolutely necessary. The Knicks were playing so I just left. Went to Walgreens bought it. It was worthless. My throat straight hurts. I’m on day 7 now because they called me after. I missed the call. I called back dude said my voicemail was full no it’s not but whatever. He says strep test was negative. I said your telling me I don’t have a throat infection. He says no I’m saying you don’t have strep. Appreciate the help I’m done. Just gotta find somewhere else when your literally 1 block away from my home. Basically was told to suffer and if it gets too bad go be hospitalized again. Sad When amoxicillin or whatever can knock it out in a few days for me. SMH. It’s crazy how I scroll down and see another girl post a review because she was given antibiotics with a negative strep test but I was specifically told we don’t just go around handing out antibiotics. I wasn’t asking for antibiotics, I was asking to be diagnosed and prescribed. Why was I treated differently? I don’t even want my money back or nothing. I’m just tryna get better. Thank you though. I’ll figure it out. FYI this the first time in my whole life ever writing a review and...
Read moreI recently had 3 pretty good experiences at DRAKOS, the first and third were for my 17 yo and the 2nd was for me. She was seen for a URI. We had a bit of waiting time between the vitals and seeing the PA-C so I suggest you bring your phone charger and/or a book. They cleaned her ears out and removed wax in order to see her eardrums which I thought was a great idea. None of my kids have ever had that done before but probably should’ve. They gave her albuterol to use in our nebulizer. At my visit, I had quite a long wait in the waiting room and in the patient room. My initial appointment time got pushed out more than a half hour also. It was busy! The nurse assessing my vitals was great, and after I’d waited a while a woman came in and asked if I wanted water which I thought was caring. I had brought my own though anticipating some waiting time. The PA-C I saw was checking me because I had developed bacterial conjunctivitis in both eyes, but discovered I had a double ear infection which was just starting. She was very understanding and compassionate about my health especially knowing I have an autoimmune disease. Third visit for my 17 yo was much faster at the same Cicero location where I’d gone. Not much waiting time outside or inside the room. Another very kind PA-C checked her over and found a sinus infection related to the URIs we both had come down with. Both the pediatric and all ages locations are in good locations not far from where I live. There are clean bathrooms in the hall and TV and fresh water in the waiting areas. There’s no slushies like a certain other place, but I felt more impressed visiting DRAKOS. It felt like you were actually a patient of theirs and not just a number or strange face. I’m very happy to have access to care close to home that rivals any other quality care I’ve had. Just come prepared in case you have a wait with something to keep you busy, because they can’t predict how busy they’ll become. I’d like to thank all three women PAs we saw. All were equally caring...
Read moreI was told to take macrobid by DR. ZAKI BADWAY iv had several Urinary Tract Infections macrobid has never worked for me most doctors when you express you have tried a antibiotic and it doesn’t work they don’t waste any time making you take it again they put you on something else that may work better maybe my body is resilient to it or it’s a kidney infection like I have told him because of the severe pain I have all the the signs of a kidney infection more so then a uti i explained to him nicely that my uti rapidly becomes a kidney infections instead of listening to my symptoms he hit my kidneys twice which hurt and i understand he has to but just because I didn’t scream in agony he said he would only prescribe me macrobid because he didn’t believe I had a Kidney infection when a doctor doesn’t want to hear the other symptoms your going through as a patient like chills, body, aches or pain in your groins not to mention extreme pain and I do take accountability with on my part for waiting for so long to come in that’s why I knew it turned in to a kidney infection but he didn’t want to hear anything I had to say at all he is a very lazy and dismissive doctor in my opinion and I don’t recommend him to anyone who wants a doctor to listen to them or take the time to look at your medical history of kidney infections. I am so disappointed in this doctor because it was my first time going to this urgent care. There were no notes take either on what pain I was going through because he didn’t want to to listen nor did I see him type anything down worst doctor I have ever been...
