Will never go back, and will never recommend to anyone.

I went to Letitia’s bridal in 2012 for a prom dress when the location was still in Garnerville. I believe it is now under new ownership, because the owner back then was a DELIGHT to work with, which is more than I can say about who I’ve encountered most recently at this shop.

Last year, I recommended my little sister stop by this same store at the new location for HER prom dress, since I had such a great experience. Ultimately, because of COVID, she stopped her search for a dress, but made a comment that her experience was not pleasant.

I ignored her comment, and yesterday I called the store to make an appointment to come in and shop for a pageant I’m in. First of all, the owner was extremely unpleasant on the phone. She told me rudely that the store closed at 6 PM “so what time are you trying to come in?”, asked me several times what I’m looking for exactly (to which I explained I’m not sure what designer I want to go with, but I need a short gown) , and then abruptly made an appointment with me and we hung up. Still, I kept a positive mindset. When we arrived to the store, she was on the phone, barely greeted us, and then when she was off she asked what I was looking for. Again, I reminded her I had an appointment, told her I was looking for a short cocktail gown. She asked to see some examples, I showed her some ideas on my phone and she said “those are pretty dresses but I don’t have anything like that here.” We just looked at her. You made an appointment with us several hours ago…you don’t even want to make an effort to help us look for SOMETHING? And when you confirmed the appointment with us, you didn’t know that you had zero short dresses?! She didn’t even let us look through the store, didn’t offer to help us look through a catalog so she could order it, didn’t give us ideas, nothing. We spent all of two minutes in the store, IF that. I couldn’t believe we had wasted our time in even coming from our home to this.

Funny enough as we walked out of the store, my sister reminded me that she had pretty much the exact same experience last year. She and her friends walked into the store, they were ignored, and when they asked for help, they were told they needed an appointment and no one even helped them make one.

Of course, one can’t help but assume this all has to do with the color of our skin. But I won’t go there, I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt. Instead, I’ll keep it at this: if you’re looking for good customer service and a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere? This is not the place for you. It’s a shame because I’m in the season in my life now where many people are getting married. I would usually recommend this place to them,...

UPDATE: My sister just went to pick up the gown and Ruthie told her she “just” got off the phone with the owner. Then she said the owner was her husband. Interesting! To add insult to injury, another employee repeatedly kept telling my sister she was making a big mistake. The only mistake here at this establishment are the employees, the lack of customer service and now the lying. BRIDES, THIS IS NOT THE STORE YOU WANT TO SHOP FOR YOUR GOWN. They will help to make your experience heartbreaking!

Horrible, Horrible customer service!

Buyer Beware! This is no place for a Bride to be!!

My sister purchased a dress from Ruthie under great pressure and stress. After TWO DAYS she decided that she just was not in love with the dress and she just wouldn't be happy with it. Called the store, they were closed. Called on Saturday and Ruthie- same woman who sold her the dress became Jekyll and Hyde. Wow! She wouldn't give my sister, the bride, the number to a contact info for the owner, repeated over in such a condescending tone that she would not receive any refund. What's crazy to me is the dress stayed in the store! My sister didn't even take it home! Dress is in the store, hasn't been worn or altered with, it's been two days and Ruthie is being less than accommodating.

I called the store today (12/29/18) and of course Ruthie was so NASTY! It was obvious once she gets your money, she really is not concerned for the bride. Again, two days after the purchase, the dress stayed in the store, never worn or altered with, she refused to hear ANYTHING I had to say. When I asked to speak with the owner she told me he wouldn't be in until after the new year and there was no contact information for him. And she would be the one to contact him and get back to us tomorrow. I obviously don't believe her! She's got the money why would she continue providing customer service now?!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE brides every where, THIS IS NOT THE BRIDAL SHOP YOU WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH. Save yourself the heartache and the aggravation. It would be better to deal with professionals and not this Ruthie associate is not someone you want to deal with at all!!

Sad to be writing this review bc I have had great experiences with Letitia’s in the past but now after my recent experience, I would say no one should ever shop here.

We ordered bridesmaid dress from Letitia’s for my sister's wedding in October. The dresses came in recently so my sister picked them up. Immediately she noticed that the color was not what she expected. We were looking for a dark burgundy and the color we received is a very light burgundy- basically red. When picking out the dresses, we showed the associate my mother’s dress, which is a very dark dress. We were clear that we wanted the dresses to coordinate. The associate showed us a swatch and assured us the dresses would look good together.

Upon trying my dress on we discovered it’s at least 2 sizes two big. I know bridal runs small but I was able to slip the dress on over my head- without unzipping it- and could fold the dress over to make it smaller.

I called the shop for my sister and was met with a rude response. The forgot the associates name but I was speaking with the person who helped us. I was basically there’s nothing we can do. I was told “we ordered your size based on your measurements” and “we cap alterations at 150”. Why would I have the dress altered when it’s not the correct color. As for the color, I was told, “well I didn’t pick the color, you did”. But actually the associate helped us pick it so that’s a bs response. When I pushed and asked what could be done I was told that the associate would have “a meeting with the owner and get back to me”- this was yesterday and I heard nothing today. I asked if I could speak with the owner and was told no. Not once during the call did the associate even over an apology for my sister not being happy. This is not the way to run a business.

After reading the reviews, I see others have had the same issue with sizing. So clearly this is their game. I will now warn everybody I know in Rockland, not to shop here. It’s not...
