Capturing the Beauty of High Falls in Philmont, NY
As an aerial photographers, We've had the privilege of capturing some of New York's most stunning landscapes. Out recent visit to High Falls in Philmont, NY, was a truly memorable experience. This isn't just a place; it's a testament to nature's raw power and delicate beauty, offering an incredible canvas for aerial photography.
The falls cascade into a gorge, creating a mesmerizing scene of rushing water and dramatic rock formations. From above, the contrast of the bright, foamy water against the dark, jagged rocks is breathtaking. I was particularly struck by the vibrant green foliage that surrounds the area, creating a lush, living frame for the falls. The opportunities for photography here are endless, from wide shots that capture the entire gorge to close-ups that highlight the intricate patterns of the water.
This project presented some unique challenges and highlights. The variable wind conditions near the falls required careful drone operation to maintain a steady shot. However, the effort was well worth it. One of the standout moments was capturing the mist rising from the falls as the morning sun hit it, creating a beautiful, ethereal glow. Another was discovering a hidden angle of the falls from a higher altitude, revealing a perspective that's impossible to see from the ground. In the end, this visit was a powerful reminder of why we love aerial photography. It's about more than just flying a drone; it's about seeing the world from a new perspective and sharing that vision with others. The images captured at High Falls are some of my favorite to date, and I'm proud to feature them in...

Reviews of poor views clearly didn't hike down to the smaller falls or follow up to the large fall which has a pretty...
