Ace Hardware on Route 57 Liverpool New York is the best hardware store I have ever been in. The staff is very knowledgeable about everything, and I mean everything. They know what you're trying to accomplish and they set you up with everything you'll need to complete your project. They tell you what to do and explain all the pitfalls you're going to encounter. This is especially relevant when tackling a plumbing or electrical project. I always believe that if I go to one of the bigger home improvement stores I'll save money. Not so fast!!! Back in the day learning as a new homeowner I was told that my sink was bad because the flange was shot and I needed to replace the sink by a larger store. I went to shop around for prices and when I got to the hardware store, they explained that they sell the flanges for about 5 dollars, which according to the other stores was built into the sink. Wow after a little bit of instruction and the flange, some plumbers putty, and about 8.00 dollars I was in plumbers heaven. 1 hour later and my plumbing project was completed. No fuss no muss. Who knew? Ever since then I always head towards Ace Hardware on route 57 for any project that's in...
Read moreI was a customer for just over a year after I purchased my house in February 2013, because it was the closest hardware store near my house in Liverpool, NY. I purchased an "Ace Brand" right angle ruler (I had made many purchases there prior to this purchase). When I got home to start my project, I attempted to remove the sticker. It would not come of easily, and left residue all over the ruler making the numbers unreadable. I was very upset that I had to spend over a half hour trying to get the sticker off the ruler, and I exchanged the product for a replacement which was a competitor's brand. Turns out that ruler was a whopping 89 cents more than theirs. I told the manager (I didn't get his name, but I think he was about 5'10" with short black hair with a medium build) that I was not going to pay the 89 cents, and I shouldn't have to after all the trouble that I went through (I didn't care about the 89 cents, it was a matter of principal). He was EXTREMELY rude, laughed at me, and told me that I was not leaving the store unless I did pay it. I threw a dollar bill on the counter, walked out, and I will never shop...
Read moreGreat store and very helpful staff with NAME brand respectable tools such as Craftsman, Crescent, DeWalt and more solid, brand name tools. The cashier was more worried about the tariffs than anything else. AKA, Suburban Hardware. Says ACE on the outside. I hope that this store will last, because it's a great store with great products and the staff there are always ready to help. It's great to have a variety of personnel with varying political views who actually work quite well together. I know that I'll be going back to this ACE to get new drill chargers and batteries. Still, my favorite ACE hardware store is the Weedsport NY store. Extremely knowledgeable country boys and gals that can turn a wrench and will always get up on a ladder to get a tool set or product for you. They help the elderly as well. Parking lot can be a bit mucky there. But we're good to go, at either location. I like this new ACE location is a good one. So line up and give thrm a chance. And always smile...
