Locked A Syracuse Escape Room — Local services in Town of De Witt

We’ve done a number of escape rooms in the past and unfortunately, this was our least favorite. The “host” interrupted us several times to give us clues unprompted when we felt we hadn’t fully puzzled through possibilities enough to request a clue.

Additionally, two of the clues in particular were extremely convoluted in a way that seems to be impossible to figure out without guidance. To us, that’s a flaw. Clues should be very challenging but not wholly illogical or unconnected to the plot line.

Overall, not the experience we were hoping for. Felt unpolished and annoying compared to others that we’ve done. Sure, requesting a clue when you’re stumped totally makes sense. Love that, but getting MANY without asking because there are such obvious roadblocks demonstrates a flaw in the puzzle itself.

If this is your first escape room experience, I can imagine it being great. For folks who’ve been elsewhere, you’re likely to be disappointed by comparison…

As someone who has done hundreds of escape rooms, I can find myself pretty picky and judgemental about escape rooms. However, Locked really pleasantly surprised me! I was a little worried since the location was a bit out of the way, but do not fear! The rooms are of a great quality, they're well decorated and have fun puzzles. I love that the rooms are themed locally and feel unique to the area. Tyler was very pleasant to work with and helped us when we got stuck with our being intrusive. If there are ever any new rooms, we'll be back! Otherwise we'll be sure to visit the other location...

Not the greatest, puzzles were very unintuitive, and shoddily constructed. Certain locks had to be reset a certain way to be able to enter a code, with no explanation as to how to reset the locks. We spent a good 20 minutes on a puzzle that was not mechanically sound, asked the puzzle master several times if we could bypass this particular portion of the puzzle as it was frustratingly difficult. The room was cramped for 8 people, a smaller max group size would have made more sense. It also was not air-conditioned, so the room grew very uncomfortable quickly. I would not recommend this...
