I was told that if I accepted a price match savings on my books, that the money would back as a gift card. I agreed to those terms and planned to apply the gift card of savings to the most expensive item on my list on a separate transaction. The “manager” was so fed up with how the system made her redo the entire transaction three different times that in the end, she charge my $99 savings gift card to my book total. Then argued with me for two days that she was correct and they owe me nothing. I got the price match discounts on my books and then paid for it? She even pulled her trusty co-worker over to have him explain it all to me. In the end, he wouldn’t go against her and instead went along with what she was saying after agreeing with me that he understood what I was saying but she would not let it go and insisted she was right. I left in a storm, don’t have all of the books I need and went straight to the Dean of students. This “manager” Theresa has no business working in customer service nor around money. She is completely incompetent! Would not recommend using SUNY Broome BookStore by...
Read moreThis is by far the worst experience ever. I went into the bookstore and they had an IT issue when using my financial aid. so then after I called them a week later, reached out and even went there and I was told they didn’t have the two books that I need that are not apart of my online course (some were included). I then was told I can order them online probably by the next day using the voucher. I went on ordered everything and hit use financial aid went through all of that and still a week later nothing. One was an electronic one and nothing on that either. Classes have now started and I still do not have my books. I’ve been to big name colleges and never have I ever gone through this. I just called and left a voicemail. I work full time and use my mornings to do school stuff. I am going to be behind. On top of all of this I couldn’t order the laptop and had to go out and buy one....
Read moreI’m sorry but I have to be the one to say this. I think you guys really failed your students this semester by downgrading to a bookstore that has pretty much nothing in it. It is so frustrating for students like me who have online classes and can’t go to the bookstore to use my voucher for a laptop. In 2024 most student use tablets and laptops 90% of the time. And getting school supplies is one of the most stressful times for students because everything is so expensive. So the new change definitely wasn’t made to benefit students at all. The other bookstore by Follett was more for students than this Barnes and Noble thing. It’s quite literally useless. Extremely disappointed. Do better. I’m so glad this is my last...
