Johnathan and his crew at Straight Edge Plumbing installed a new tankless gas water heater in my home in Montauk, replacing an older, less energy efficient tank tied to my oil burning furnace. At first I was just going to replace it with the same model, but Jonathan explained how I could save energy costs by upgrading to new technology and the price was very reasonable.

He was quick, professional, used quality materials and superior craftsmanship in his pipework and was an all around pleasure to deal with. He was also very communicative via text. He cleaned up the lines around my pressurizer where somebody else had left a tangled mess years ago.

I used to work in trades and in the years since have done every kind of home repair or renovation imaginable, roof, oil tank, kitchen, bathrooms, windows, water heater, furnace, framing, insulation, paint, trim, floors, you name it. I have a pretty good sense of the cost of labor and materials, know when to do things myself, and when to call a Professional. I know that Johnathan gave me a good, honest estimate for the work. I even challenged him a little on the cost to replace a water filter and he was able to explain to my satisfaction the labor that would need to go into that part of the work. I feel like I paid for quality from a master. I always get multiple estimates for a job and I have to say the same was not true for a pretty shocking estimate I got from a prominent local family firm that I had previously done business with for 15 years who must have felt they had me hostage and treated me like a stranger. Straight Edge is honest and trustworthy.

Case in point, I have a very long run to one part of my house where the hot water seemed to be taking a while to reach and Jonathan suggested an adjustment to improve the response time. But I wanted to live with the new system for a few days to test it out. I called back a few days later and had decided, yes, indeed I did want to make that adjustment, and he came back the very same day and fixed it.

Needless to say I will be calling on Straight Edge Plumbing for my next planned or unplanned job. Trustworthy, honest, communicative, easy to do business with, and all-around superior craftsmanship, and a nice guy. It was even easy to pay online.

StraightEdge Plumbing does exceptional work. I just had them replace my tankless water heater. Jonathan responded to my request immediately and was at my house the next morning to see what I wanted to replace. He gave me an estimate which was very competitive with other vendors. He and his crew came the other day to take out my old system and installed the new system. They started at 8am and was done by 11am. Very professional, went about their business, answered my questions and there was no disruption to our household. I did have a problem which came up later that night, the pilot light in my boiler was out and I couldn’t get it relit. I emailed Jonathan and he responded and came by first thing this morning and fixed the problem. It turned out to be a bit more complicated than trying to relight the pilot but it was fixed. It isn’t often that you can directly contact the owner of the company and get a response and then show up the next morning to do the work. When you get that level of service it becomes a “keeper”. Wow! What can I say? Straightedge Plumbing Is off the charts. Our tankless heater in our home in Napeague died after 18 years. I reached out to Straightedge and within a few hours both Jonathan and Randall replied back to me. Jonathan came the next day and reviewed our existing condition and sent out a quote the following day. Their price was very fair considering what contractors charge out here. We agreed on a price and Randall and Johnny arrived at 8 AM the next day for the install. They were very clean and respectful of both our house and us. They plumbed out all new gas and water pipes.
