Updated review - Original below. The salon reached out to me to discuss my concerns and issues with my haircut and dry. They offered me a full refund or an additional haircut to fix the first one. I took the refund - but was very impressed with how quickly they reached out to me to discuss the problems. Pleased with how they resolved the situation.
Very disappointed in the service that I received at this salon today. I was a very last minute booking for a haircut and blowout. Went in and while everyone including my stylist was pleasant, I had a very mediocre haircut and then when discussing the blowout that I had booked, I said that I didn't want it blown straight, as I wanted to check the cut with my natural curly hair as I usually just blow the roots dry a bit and then let the rest dry naturally. Maybe it was a miscommunication, but she blew the roots dry and then just did a little bit more drying, and then kept asking if I wanted it more dry - I said yes a couple of times, but after she asked the second time - I had the feeling that she didn't really care to do any more work and basically I was done. Hair was still wet in places when I left. She She didn't check the cut when dry, didn't show me the back or sides at all with a mirror - nothing. I did ask her to check the length as it looked uneven. She said it was fine. Next morning - I see that that there are longer pieces everywhere and that the bottom wasn't cut well at all. I knew it felt wrong the way she was cutting and didn't check. See pics of all the random long bits. Normally all my haircuts take an hour or so, and she only took around 10 minutes.
I basically got the feeling that she just didn't want to be cutting my hair or blowing it dry as I had booked for. Anyway, I left with super flyaway hair and no styling for $120(which was supposed to be a cut and blowdry) including tip (guilt - I always have to tip) I have no problem paying for good service, but I was in and out in about 20 minutes including my shampoo, and blowdry. She takes the time to sit down with you before starting to listen to the ideas you might have, any issues that you are experiencing with your hair, and provide her professional recommendations on what would meet both your vision and needs. She really takes the time to understand why exactly you are looking for and executes it so perfectly! I was on the fence about either doing my usual lob cut or reviving my hair with some layers and curtain bangs and we agreed on the layers and curtain bangs so I wouldn’t have to sacrifice any length and also continue having a low-maintenance cut. I must say this - she has a way with curtain bangs so that they fall and lay perfectly! I also started developing scalp psoriasis and Dionna recommended products that would address and treat my scalp issues. She also recommends products that she uses herself which is a bonus. I just got my hair done but I’m already looking forward to my next wash day to try out these amazing products. I’m also looking forward to my next appointment, it’s always a great experience. Each time, I leave so refreshed, with more confidence because my hair looks amazing, and always feel like she has given me a makeover - which are the best feelings ever. Thank you Dionna!
They are so attentive to their clients and so professional! I was initially nervous about going to a salon during the pandemic when I first scheduled my appointment but once I got there, i saw for myself the precautions they take (checking your temperature, provide hand sanitizer, have plexiglass in between stations, and of course, wearing masks). I feel so comfortable going every time because I know they value their clients health...
Read moreOne month later & I still cry over my hair. Uneven haircut that she attempted to cover up. Extremely choppy & she also took thinning scissors or whatever to my hair which I was super confused about because I wanted the thickness along with the ONE length bob I specifically asked for several times & was promised & I didn’t even get that.. Prior to this haircut , I had thick & curly hair now it’s very thin , uneven & disgusting. I wish I could fix it but sadly I just have to wait for it to grow out. I wish I would have never come to this place. It has truly destroyed my life. I have cancelled all events for the rest of the year & I am looking into wigs and sew ins now because I cannot go outside like this & I actually never leave because of this haircut. Please please please consider going elsewhere for your haircut. I called & explained all of this & they weren’t even remorseful. I understand we are all human & I understand that it wasn’t done intentionally but honestly letting someone cut hair that clearly needs more training is scary. I hope the owner sees this so they can reevaluate letting her ( I won’t say her name ) do hair again or until she is more trained at least.
